A blowout loss in their last game.
A loss to an unranked team.
Bama is literally the only team that could get in with that resume.

I guarantee if the conference champion requirement wasn’t a thing that UTa would have gotten in over BYU. Last 2 in would have been ND and the Horns.

People can argue it all they want. The issue most of us have is in the quote above. No other team with the exact same wins/losses/criteria would have been placed in the playoff.
Alabama got in because they are Alabama.
