Can we all just take a minute to laugh at Colorado?

They're paying Karl Dorell half a mil a year more than Oregon is paying Cristobal.

I don't think I'm going out on a limb when I say this isn't going to end well.

That's absolutley ridiculous....lol

But it does make me happy as an Alabama fan to see Orgeon being cheap with Mario. I'd love to see him replace Saban when the time comes.

Desperate times call for desperate hiring.

Terrible hire. But when your corch basically buttfricks you and leaves a week after signing day, you aren’t left with terrific options.

It's like that because Cristobal got hired as an assistant before he started cranking Oregon's recruiting up.

Meanwhile, Dorrell got hired very late in a hiring cycle to a job that's not super attractive. So, Dorrell got overpaid because of the situation, while Cristobal has overperformed.

It’s really bad. Had their balls cut off in front of country. Going over there later today. Should make for some good conversation

Wasn't Bieniemy a candidate? He's a slam dunk hire.

Bret Bielema wouldn't have been a bad hire.

Oregon should have hired some young hot shot coordinator or position coach.

I’d rather be the OC of the SuperBowl champ than the HC of the Colorado buffalos

No I'd rather have the better job. one more year as the OC there and he's got an NFL HC gig in 2021.
He's also a 50 year old man with 2 kids, not a college kid.

You have to think he’s holding out for a NFL HC job, and I don’t blame him.

Yeah, there was a big push for him to be a head coach this year. Unless they are in the Super Bowl again, I think he gets an NFL coaching job next year. No need to go to Colorado now.

As for the hire, the timing was terrible, but you think they could have found somebody else. Skip Holts, Chip Long, Charlie Strong, Major Applewhite, Jay Gruden, Kendal Briles, Marvin Lewis, David Yost?

Nah, it’s hard to find someone who cares enough about CU football to have a discussion

This is great evidence that we'd have been laughing at Colorado's hire almost regardless of who it was.

Bienemy was only really floated because he was an alum, but when he turned them down, there weren't a lot of attractive candidates. Dorrell's tenure at UCLA wasn't great, but it wasn't a disaster.

Yeah, I'm not sure why many on this board seem to think Dorrell is somehow beneath Colorado, especially given the timing of all this. He's won a bowl more recently than CU has.
