The OP is only right because the offended had little experience and covered the WNBA straight out of journalism school.

And then she got a job with the Panthers for 1 year. And she only posts about injuries, suspension and if some Panther got traded.

It's not like she's some female Peter King who has a big career and resume covering the NFL and writes game articles.

She posts general stats and who is injured...and then asked Cam about a detailed part of football. I assume he knew who she was...Charlotte Observer and perplexed about her job as...stat/injury update reporter to - I'm gonna ask real questions now about football now and strategy.

It was stupid of Cam but this is no real - football seasoned writer who was shunned just because she was female. This is someone who goes from sport to sport tweeting stats.

I don't think it is true. I'm sure there are women who study football and can understand routes, at least to the same degree as non-football playing male sportswriters, even if your wife isn't one of them. But even if is true, it's still a dick thing to say. Just because a person is fat, doesn't mean I should laugh at them and call them a fatass.

His comments didn't bother me in the slightest.

But is it really that funny?

I watch a decent amount of football and would have a tough time telling if a WR is running "good routes".

Beating a jam at the line and exploding out of break... sure we can all see that. But when considering the fact most of us dont see all the routes because the camera is on the QB and lines...

Unless ure watching all-22 film on your leisure time, how would you really know.

Hey Funchess is playing hard and focused on his routes and being physical. Do you like seeing that and take pride in it?"

That's all she asked

Right?

Give her some credit, she's multidimensional.

She loves a good racist joke.

Did she though?

No doubt.

I'm prettt sure Funchess wasn't or isn't known as a good route runner. He was pretty raw coming out of Michigan.

She's around the team and probably heard him or someone(a male, obviously) comment on Funchess working on his routes in year 2.

How many women have asked you about Calvin Ridleys route tree.

"Reauxly, do you think he is selling the sluggo enough when there is only 1 deep high S? Im not sure his hip movement is convincing enough"

Im just saying its funny strange. Like when someone says "he looked at me funny" or "he was acting funny". In that context its odd, not "haha"

I will concede he shouldn't of said it.

You married the wrong woman. My wife can tell me most of the major sports records!

She turns 40 next weekend and for her birthday she wants to go to the ALCS.

I don’t doubt some women’s knowledge. It does make me cringe when I hear a woman announcer doing a football game. It just doesn’t sound right.

What makes a female who is a serious fan any different than a guy who never played at a high level and is a serious fan? There are major college head coaches who never played football. What makes them more qualified than a female reporter?

It was a really dumb comment by Cam. I can see how somebody could say that without thinking, especially if they were heated. Glad to see he apologized. We all make mistakes and say dumb stuff from time to time, so now that he's acknowledged he was wrong and manned up to apologize we should move on.

When I watch football with my wife she just wants to talk about AUBIE the dancing tiger

That's because Aubie is fricking hilarious and awesome. Best mascot in CFB. Theres a reason why Aubie has won more mascot national championships than any other mascot. Go to an Auburn game in person and Aubie can be damn near as entertaining as the game at times. Everybody loves Aubie, even Bama fans who come to our games admit it by the end. You clearly married above your league in at least the intelligence department.

It's insecurity, plain and simple.

The notion that a female could know as much or more about football than a male, bah!!!!
