I wonder how it feels to be the guy on a team for years only to see them thrive as soon as you leave. Who else should they invite to meetings?

What about Patrick Ewing? There is a reason he is considered the poster child for it.

DeRozan and Harper left for two very different reasons

To be fair to Derouzan he was straight up traded for a top 3 player.

Its not like he left and got replaced by some guy.

Derozan has more of a right to be pissed than Harper does.

Not that he has much of a right at all, the Raps absolutely lose without Kawhi.

Yeah he was betrayed by the Raps.

To his credit, he hasn't been publicly bitter about it at all.

Tor was pretty much as good the previous year as they were last year. They were the best team in the east the year before too. Their issue was their coach couldn’t get them mentally prepared to beat lebron. Cleveland had them beat before that series even started. they broguht in nurse from the Houston coaching tree and got all time lucky with injuries and voila.

Come on Boom. They needed an alpha like Kawhi and you know it.

I keep seeing his name brought up with all the Harper stuff. What former Ewing team won a championship the year after Ewing left? Georgetown won one with him and the Knicks went from annual contender to non-playoff team after he was traded away.

IIRC, the 1999 Knicks team that went to the finals against the Spurs did so with Ewing unavailable due to injury.

Remember the team that was a better record with kawhi out the lineup. Toronto won 59 the previous year. in the shape the warriors were in they prob lose to tor even w no kawhi.

You recall correctly. They went to the Finals as an 8 seed, beating the Pacers in the ECF despite losing Ewing to injury.

Spurs beat them 4-1 in the Finals.

The real question is how does 300 MM in cash make a man feel? And not before you are too old to enjoy it.

With nurse at the helm they woulda beat lebron this year even if he stayed in the east. That last cavs team was baaaaad. I’m not sure they would’ve beaten any west playoff teams in a series. They went 7 w the lowly pacers.

I don’t consider that luck for Toronto but insanity by LeBron.

Philly made far more sense than LA for basketball reasons.

Kawhi lead them over Philly and bucks. They wouldn’t have needed him to beat the magic or warriors. Last years tor team also coulda very likely beat Philly and bucks.

You keep trying to use this crutch to discredit Kawhi, but we already debunked that soft take a few months ago and proved that going by just record with Kawhi out dont mean jack.

for example, Kawhi sits against the hawks, raps win, Kawhi plays against bucks, they lose. How would that prove Raps are better w/o Kawhi?

I thought you woulda stepped your game up some after last season, guess some things never change.
