Without knowing more about McCoy's case, I'd say he has a more legitimate reason for the waiver since he's an early enrollee and hasn't practiced with the team or anything.

i think the opposite. this would essentially invalidate the early signing period. it's way too new to be attacked

Was listening some an analyst on Sirius XM discuss this and he said the lawyer Fields hired is the scum of the earth ambulance chaser type and he thinks he will scare the ncaa and that Fields will open the flood gates

It’s bad for football

I don't think Fields or McCoy should get a waiver. If Fields uses the racism it's just a copout. He should've left immediately if that's the reason.
McCoy chose to sign with USC and there's no way anything has happened in 2 weeks that justifies a waiver. If you give it to him where does it stop? Have to set a precedent of following the rules. Free agency invalidates all of it so there may as well be no rules and open payments should be made. That's essentially the precedent giving McCoy a waiver sets.

Swann should have fired Helton months ago. Now somebody needs to fire them both. It's only going to get worse.

I’m fine with 1 more year of Helton if it yields urban Meyer for 2020.

Allowing him to transfer without sitting could open the floodgates for continued “recruiting” even after the guy signs.

While it will never be proven, you’d have to be pretty naive to think someone from Texas wasn’t still “encouraging” him to consider making this decision.

You'd be drooling over it if he was going to OU.

Did this dude’s parents literally write Bru as his first name on his birth certificate? Bruh, come on now.

As for transfers, I believe every athlete should get one free transfer without losing a year, but if you transfer a second time you have to sit out a year (unless it’s a graduate transfer situation).

No more additional stipend though.

If Fields and his family really believe there is a racist environment in Athens, then maybe dont send the younger sister there on softball scholarship.

His head coach is gone. That will be a good enough excuse moving forward. That's the difference with him and McCoy.

We're basically halfway to free agency. If the head coach leaves, I believe the kid will be granted immediate eligibility from now on.

Ohio State didn't object to anything Tathan presented in his waiver request out of respect for player mobility (probably hoping for good street cred in recruiting circles).

Did USC?

doesnt seem like it which i find surprising. like i get it if its a situation like fields or tathan, but i would be furious if the kid wanted to leave after only two weeks and at texas for tampering and would block his move to texas. but thats why they dont put me in charge of these things i guess
