This screams Fournette being out for a while.

Marrone recently said he has no idea when Fournette will be back. The Jags had to try something but this trade likely won’t move the needle much for their offense, they desperately need OL help (after Cam Robinson’s season ending injury) but it’s obviously a lot harder to trade for that.

Hyde has averaged 3.4 yards a carry this season and will now be running behind a really bad run blocking line.

Best case scenario it tells you the Jags are wanting to invest in a better plan B for Fournette, since he’s had so much trouble staying on the field. Chris Ivory was an underrated piece for them last year

They traded Hyde because they wanted more touches for Chubb, I don't think this affects Johnson's value.

Yeah Duke Johnson is essentially a slot WR more than a RB

Hue has said after each of the last games that he really wanted to get/wish they'd gotten Chubb more carries, but it just didn't happen. You're the head coach, Hue.

Chubb is averaging 10+ ypc but hasn't carried the ball more than 3 times in a game this season!

Guess Dorsey finally took the decision out of Hue's hands.

John Dorsey essentially saying I need to force Hue to play our best players.

Nick Chubb - 16 att, 173 yards
Duke Johnson - 19 att, 111 yards
Carlos Hyde - 114 att, 382 yards

Sure it does. There is one less back splitting carries and Hue Jackson has said he wants Duke more involved.

He's not going to get 50/50 obviously, but one less mouth to feed is really good for a stash RB on my bench with a ton of talent.
