Brian Hoyer started the 2017 season for the 49ers. Now they’re playing in a super bowl.

What a difference less than 3 years makes.

And that's with cutting a 2017 1st round pick (Reuben Foster)...massaged by the fact that his 2018 3rd round replacement (Fred Warner) has straight balled

I'm not a beat writer so I can't personally gauge but there's also a perception that (like 2019 LSU) the locker room is insanely tight. Massive respek to Lynch and Shanahan for what they've built. With Jimmy GQ back the possibility of 10 wins this year wasn't exactly a stretch but I sure as hell didn't expect a Top 5 scoring offense AND defense.

Last season they finished 4-12, had the second overall pick and rolled with Bosa. A year later they are in the SB. Lynch is a genius

That’s the unpredictability nature of the NFL. So 3 years from now, the Browns could....never mind.

Shanahan actually did an incredible job with Beathard/Mullens. The fact that they had as much success moving the ball as they did is wild, playing from behind or not.

It's mostly the same team as last year that was bad on both sides of the ball. Nail another draft (4 starters in the first 5 rounds), make a few FA moves (Ford/Alexander/Coleman), and wham 13-3.
