Twins were not thrilled with Chance Sisco bunting for a hit in 9th with Berrios working on a one-hitter with a 6-run lead.

Dozier: “Obviously, we’re not a fan of it. He’s a young kid. I could’ve said something at 2nd base but they have tremendous veteran leadership over there."

Twins playing the shift. Sisco bunts down the line for a single like anyone really should now that teams are moving to these shifts.

Sorry, but why do you want the guy to do? A single is a single. Even as a fan of the Astros, who use the shift 3x more than anyone else, I hope to see more guys bunt and take what the defense gives them. It would have been different if he swung and it was a slow roller to third instead of bunting? What’s the difference? Baltimore ended up loading the bases before Minnesota ended it.

Dozier is out of his mind.

One should never get offended in sports. Its competition, and you do what you got to do to win.

Hell if we are going to play the offended over nothing game... why are you shifting up 7 in the ninth?

This. Don’t bitch about someone gaining a competitive advantage in a blow out, when you’re trying to do the exact same thing.

Dozier would fit right in with the Braves. Someone should call McCann, the sheriff of the MLB's Unwritten Rules brigade, and see what he has to say.

Seems like the perfect time to bunt to beat the shift and keep that in teams' minds going forward.

You're down 6, you need baserunners to even have a hail mary chance at getting back into the game.

And teams will see the tape, and know that Sisco is willing to bunt to beat the shift, so maybe not shift next time, or at the very least keep the third baseman at home.

I hate the shift and thoroughly enjoy seeing it get burnt like this. I remember one game when the Red Sox put a big shift on for Robinson Cano. Cano slapped a bunt down the third base line and ended up with a double. It warmed my heart.

So according to Douchzier teams should just give up when being down? I have a hard time understanding someone getting angry at someone else for playing baseball.

Maybe I'd get it if he broke up a no hitter, but no one cares about a one hitter. And once you play the shift, you've given up the right to complain about bunts, as that is the best way to beat the shift.

It's already absurd that they got "upset."

It's even more absurd that they were in a shift up big in the 9th...and are still bitching about the bunt.

This kind of BS is the main reason I was never interested in MLB.

yes

If I'm down big in the 9th and I'm getting shifted against, I'm bunting just to prove a point

It's not like he can make up 6 runs swinging for the fences either.
