re: Bo Schembechler’s son: I told my dad I was sexually abused by Dr. Anderson

Harbaugh has really fricked up with his comments on this. If it continues to snowball his "Bo knew nothing" line is not going to age well.
The reply.

Michigan football's Jim Harbaugh defends Bo Schembechler in light of Robert Anderson report
Steven LorenzSpecial to Detroit Free Press
"I can tell you this," Harbaugh said. "Bo Schembechler ... there was nothing that I saw in the times when I was a kid here, my dad was on staff or when I played here ... he never sat on anything. He never procrastinated on anything. He took care of it before the sun went down. That's the Bo Schembechler that I know. There's nothing that ever was swept under the rug or ignored. He addressed everything in a timely fashion. That's the Bo Schembechler that I knew."
The reply.
quote:
"It's very unfortunate, yet not surprising, that Coach Harbaugh is choosing to ignore the voices of 850 victims," Spotlight Michigan spokesperson Autria Lindsay said. "Turning a blind eye and denying the problem has been the Michigan way for decades now, and it's clear Coach Harbaugh is going to continue following the Bo Schembechler method.
"While the abuse suffered at the hands of serial predator Dr. Robert Anderson continues to haunt his hundreds of victims, these brave men and women are further victimized when their horrific allegations of rape and sexual assault aren't considered credible by those in power," the statement continued. "We had hoped Coach Harbaugh would be the face of a new era for the Michigan football program."

There is a not small faction of Michigan alumni who would immediately pull donations if this happened.
Good frick them. People who support a coach that let his own son get molested and did nothing to stop the monster who did it can piss the hell off.

The BIG clearly enjoys this kind of reputation.
You guys ‘member back in the fall when that pretentious B1G alumna, lady sportswriter wrote that the B1G caving into playing football during CoviD to fall in line with the SEC and ACC was their darkest hour or some such shite?
I ‘member.
She had the gall to say that even after the PSU and MSU stuff.

I have met this guy. I believe what he is saying.

Matt also apparently tried to sue his dad over some memorabilia issue?
I also read that Bo’s youngest son Glenn doesn’t think any of this happened, including Matt’s claims about being hit in the chest and Bo putting hands on his wife.
Glenn and Matt apparently haven’t talked for a decade or so.
Again, as is the case with many of these issues, it isn’t cut and dry. There’s Matt’s story, then the perspective of Glenn and Harbaugh, and the truth somewhere in the middle.

Obviously I have no way of knowing how true or not this is but what I'm wondering is why is this just coming out now? Bo Schembechler has been dead for something like 15 years, I wonder why the guy waited until now. That doesn't mean it's not true but it seems unusual

It’s also hard to throw a guy to the wolves if there’s no paper trail. With Paterno and Penn State, you had emails to gather. Bo was long retired.
I WANT to believe he didn’t know, but it sounds like he was told of incidents and refused to believe and took the doctor at his word if and when he denied.
This is why coaches need to have compliance depts to hold everyone accountable. It’s hard to be unbiased when dealing with friends and colleagues.

Glad Lester the Molester was able to use Bo's exciting offensive at LSU.

Did you read the whole thing? Shembechlers son isn’t the only one claiming that these things happened, or that Bo knew.
Also, I don’t know if you have a few siblings, or if you have lifelong relationships with them, but a LOT of serious things go unnoticed or not remembered by one sibling vs another over the years.

I don’t get why Bo would cover for this guy.
Just fricking fire the team doctor. Stop letting him finger your players.
That’s not hard.
