Lorenzo Alexander said he was told Vontae Davis pulled himself out and retired at halftime. Said he hasn't seen anything like it going back to Pop Warner. "Completely disrespectful."

So the last time I took my ball and went home I didn’t quit. I just retired!

@mortreport
Word is Vontae Davis put on his street clothes at half, said he was quitting and left the stadium, per another source

The John Kruk retirement method. Got his final hit in the first inning, left the stadium and listened to the game on his way home.

I’d actually pay for this feature.

Double if you can sack the opposing QB so much they do so immediately.

"Retire! At this time of the season? At this part of the game? Playing in front of your team's fans at home?"

Scrolls through Vontae Davis' Wikipedia page and sees that he plays for the Bills.

"I understand his decision. I hope Vontae enjoys his retirement."

1 season, $5.3m, no bonus AFAIK.

He only gets 2 game checks out of that, meaning 1/8 that total.

I'd love to retire like that one day. Middle of the work day in the middle of the week, in a meeting I don't like or dealing with someone I don't like. Just get up, mutter something about being completely disrespectful, go to the restroom and change into street clothes, and just walk out and leave.
