Who fricking cares? If any man has been in a relationship with a women who has a smartass mouth, you know it's not always the mans fault. I have no clue to why he slapped her, but no one knows the full story. She's not dead, and is in that relationship by choice. She might have gave another guy a BJ that night and smarted off to Rice when he called her out. No one knows what happened.

Gotta be trolling. Don't know why someone would troll this subject, but there it is.

Threads about important issues like this really show you how stupid most people on this board are.

You are delusional if you thing this punch was the first or last form of abuse he has dished out.

I can't imagine as mad as I have ever been at my wife even having the thought cross my mind to lay do much as a finger on her. You walk away. He did not hesitate to deliver a Haymaker to the jaw and then drag her by her hair unconscious.

RAY RICE IS A PIECE OF shite.

What began as simple put downs and controlling behavior escalated into being choked, punched, kicked, shoved into walls, thrown out of a car naked without house keys, and more, as well as enduring tremendous mental abuse including being lied to and cheated on. I stayed with him because I was repeating a cycle that I had experienced as a child with a mentally checked out mother. With few other outlets, my abuser had become my entire life, however odd that may sound to those who have not endured domestic violence. I had created my own emotional, physical and psychological nightmare and I struggled to find a way out of a toxic and twisted reality.

i'm a victim and witness of domestic violence (as a child) and i say this person is being a big pussy about it

I share my story because today’s reaction by the Baltimore Ravens meant something to me. I know it was very late in coming and it only resulted from the release of a horrific video, but societal changes in opinion and attitude, especially on topics of gender, race and discrimination take time to develop, and this week, we made progress and shined a national spotlight on an issue that often is hidden behind doors and sometimes only whispered about with disdain for the victim.

this person is scary

this person is justifying using mob violence based in emotional-reactionary thinking

that is the very sort of thinking that leads to the issues with gender, race and discrimination that the author seeks to change

mental hypocrite

that is a MAJOR assumption

ironically, the same people throwing hissy fits with emotional reactions (which are outside of their behavioral patterns) are condemning a man in totality for an act that may be an emotional reaction outside of his behavioral pattern. he may be a consistent abuser. he may have had a single instance of violence. we can't make an assumption either way and can only analyze the incident in question

An emotional reaction outside of his normal character seems less likely by the way he watched her hit her head, lay unconscious and then drag her down the hall.

Ok, you fricked up and raged for a second. If it's out of your character, you probably show some emotion or panic and immediately pick her up.

He treated her like a dead animal.

I know you are a defense lawyer and that Is a lawyer answer. I don't believe that was the first time he has put hands on a woman. It has nothing to do with an emotional reaction.

and that's ok, but that belief should not taint an analysis of the incident in question b/c you have no justification for that belief other than desire for it to be true (or to confirm some perception bias that you have in this scenario)

It has nothing to do with an emotional reaction.

it can, if it deals with conforing a belief to a desire...or it has to do with an irrational reaction (fulfilling a perception bias)

ray rice is actually a victim here...he was punished under a set of facts and standards, and then punished again under the same facts and standards...there was nothing new. What a raw deal.

If this was a one time deal he would have been way more upset after knocking her out. Not cold, I am just going to drag her to my room.

Don't try your Jedi mind tricks on me!

I'm basing this on 40 years of life experience. Not a desire for it to be true. I never cared way about rice .

i won't call him a victim, but he's getting railroaded for sure. 2 games for a first offense isn't some common thing

like PEDs get you 4, but that's collectively bargained

stallworth got 16 games for killing a guy

ray lewis obstructed a murder investigation and got 0 games

this is the NFL I want...let the justice system succeed or fail, so long as they show up on time...if a team wants to release a player, fine.
