Biggest NBA meltdown since?
Clips just went on 26-4 run to end this game and beat OKC . Holy shite how do you let that happen? Its becoming more and more obvious that a KD and Westbrook split is imminent. Also the Clips no longer need Blake Griffin.

Westbrook and Durant don't know how to play together, and they are both pussies.

That being said, the Clippers' meltdown against Houston last year was much worse, given the circumstances.

Not sure how I forgot that lol. Then they went after Josh Smith like that would help.

The Thunder are going to be bad for a long time after next season.

This is so sad. And probably true. The skills are there, but the personalities don't match.

Westbrook might be the best athlete in the league and gives his all, but his utter lack of understanding how to play point is his downfall.

Disagree. He can carry a team. But his utter lack of understanding given the fact that he has Kevin fricking Durant on his team is his downfall. He's a franchise player anywhere else but OKC. He's sick. Put it like this -- if OKC approaches you and says we want to do a straight up trade, 1:1, PG:PG, the only team that's saying no is Golden State. That tells you everything you need to know.

I think the Clippers say no, if it's just a one-year scenario.

re: Biggest NBA meltdown since?
If you actually watch the the thunder this year durant takes some horrible arse shots but gets a pass becuase he's durant.Example was when the clippers were making their run the the thunder were up by 2 they get a offensive rebound with like a min and a half left but instead of running the clock and the offense durant hoists up a contested 3 with 22 secs on the shot clock. He was just super sloppy from the 3rd quarter till the end. Actually think Westbrook has been deferred a lot to Durant this season, I mean the dude is averaging 10.3 assist and takes less shots than Durant. If this were 2010 I could see your point but they don't have the same issues anymore.

It's not a lack of understanding. It's a lack of willingness. It's also a matter of he's played this way since he was a small child and it's very hard to change that behavior.

I think the Lake show was up 30 or so vs Boston in the finals and lost.

Sounds crazy, but replacing Durant with a more spot up shooter might make this team better... assuming Westbrook makes some tweaks to his approach.

The Grizzlies were up on the Clippers by 21 in the 4th quarter in the 2012 playoffs and lost. It was one of the weirdest games I've ever watched. The Grizzlies played as good as they had all season for 3 quarters and then as bad as they had in that 4th.

re: Biggest NBA meltdown since?
i was asleep when this game ended. what did Westbrook do to lose this game?

and to defend big Russ, he has played his entire career in an iso-dominated scheme (under brooks). this is the first year that he's been asked to be more of a "real" point guard. and i mean he's not doing poorly in that first time role

last year he had a career high in assist/40 rating (b/c durant was out and he was THE offense) and this year he's increased that by 20%. he's over 10/game for the year and over 12/game in February

this in spite of his Usage rate going down (with durant back and a less iso-based offense, that's no shock)

also, his TS% is a career high of 55.9% (primarily due to a career high FG% of 46.1%)

Can't point any fingers at either Russ or Durant on the offensive side.

Problem is interior defense. OKC is below average in every defensive metric. And most of the opponents damage is coming in the paint. Really inexcusable when you have (or had) one of the premier shot blockers in the league.
