Best landing spot for KD in free agency for basketball reasons?

We all know he's a huge bitch and will resign with GS or banana boat with LeBron and the LeFanbois in LA.
But... assuming he made the decision strictly for bball reasons, where does he end up?

I get LeBron is great offensively, but his defense is rapidly regressing. For that reason I have a hard time believing the Lakers make any sort of title runs with LeBron. Not only that but every player who has played with LeBron has had to sacrifice their game. Not sure KD is the type to be okay with that.
So for purely basketball reasons, I don't see KD going to the Lakers. He may sign there because LeBron/Magic sells him on after basketball opportunities, but teaming up with Kawhi and the Clippers would be very interesting.
Phoenix would also be very enticing. A big 3 of KD, Booker and Ayton is an immediate championship contender.

he has never been a good defender.
He's good at being athletic and chasing down blocks, and looking for steals so he can have a break away. That's not what being a good defender is all about. For how smart Lebron supposedly is, he's a terrible defender. He should be better than what Kawhi is on defense, but he's no where near Kawhi defensively.
He has had the same mentality every AAU star has, let everyone else play defense and give me the ball so i can score.
