Harry Carson wasn’t as good as Banks and then I explained to you why Banks wasn’t named yearly but on All Decade teams

I swear you move your goalpost and have no clue about those Giants Defenses. Did you ever watch them?

First you claim Lott was better than LT. Then try to say LT couldn’t cover passes. When you get told you switch and try to say Carson was better than Banks yet have no clue

Now to answer about Anderson you were so stupefied about I think he had 5 ints as a rookie All Pro made it 5 other times as 2nd team. broke arm twice then held tackles record for the Packers and is in their Ring of Fame. If I’m thinking correct he was a 1st round pick from Michigan Before you spout stupidity learn the facts

I used that to make a point to SMS about how idiotic his reference to NFL All-Decade teams were as an indicator of greatness as relates to our argument about Harry Carson/Carl Banks

I understand that.. I was making a point to that just reading books and watching a few highlights to base how good A certain player or team is.... You have been doing this since you came on here...

You laugh at me when I talk about "Been alive to see it" crap... But it does make A difference....

I have the same knowledge from books that you have, but I also have the luxury of watching the game for years as it happened..........

I can't imagine someone being as dominant as Watt was in 2014. 20.5 sacks, 59 tackles, and he scored 5 TDs.

If he keeps up that (or near that) level he may be in the mix. Too soon for "all-time" anything for JJ, imo

That's his problem... He was not alive when those Giants team were playing but uses excuses like watching some highlights and reading books and thinks he knows more than people that actually watched them while they played........

I can’t wait to hear his opinion on Andre Tippett who was legitimately in argument as best LB in NFL for 3 or 4 years

If jj watt keeps it up he could get into the convo.

Keeps WHAT up, missing more games than he plays???

LT was the best. Others, Dick Butkus, Ted Hendricks, Mike Curtis, Jack Tatum, Lem Barney, Randy White, Alan Page, Joe Greene, Mel Blount.
Plenty more...

During the mid-1980s, Tippett probably was, dude was all-pro from 1985-88 and won NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 1985 yeah I think that makes a solid argument for that period of time, do I think he actually was? No, but you could make the argument yes.

2000 Ray Lewis is up there. Simply unstoppable that year.

The Pile Jumper is nowhere near a list of all time any thing. Unless it's a list of self-promoters or microphone sniffers.

1987 Reggie White...21 sacks in only 12 games. That's just insane.

It’s LT for sure. Dick Butkus also deserves a mention.

Another vote for Lawrence Taylor. It was like watching Von Miller, if he played Prairie View every week.

I'm only 26 so not like I can sit here and act like I've seen all the older dudes play (namely LT), but it's hard for me to imagine anyone ever being more dominant that Watt has been.

L.T.

And I hate Ray Lewis with the heat of Shuttle re-entry, but that m’fer was a fearsome middle linebacker. Like Rockne said “It isn’t necessary to see a good tackle. You can hear it.”

L.T. and Reggie White are the obvious choices.

And neither is wrong.

But Reggie White basically - it wasn't just pass rushing...

Teams could not run the ball to his side...SS and two linebackers were always on the other side...Reggie White just locked down half the field when it came to the running game. Dude was built like a mountain and quick like a Cheetah.
