Hearing today that Bret Bielema is emerging as a candidate for #Colorado coaching job. @RapSheet reports the #Giants assistant is interviewing with CU. Bielema had been interested in MSU job, too, which went to Colorado's Mel Tucker. He also talked to Boston College

quote:

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Bielema is interviewing for the Colorado head coaching job.

That’s the one that came vacant when Mel Tucker bolted for Michigan State.
New Giants coach Joe Judge hired Bielema in January as his outside linebackers coach/senior defensive assistant, bringing a familiar face from his Patriots days along to help.

Bielema had spent the previous two years on the Patriots’ staff, after 12 years as a college head coach at Wisconsin and Arkansas. He had a 97-58 record as a college head coach, winning three Big 10 titles.

The Buffaloes have also expressed interest in former Colorado running back and current Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, though he could be poised to get a head coaching job in the NFL soon.

Easy division now that the Pac 12 is a joke and USC is incompetent, but recruitng to Colorado ain't gonna be easy, especially for a guy who sucks at recruitng and openly loathed it.

Bieniemy would seem like a lock there.

He was being named as a candidate for a NFL job. He's too big for Colorado. Other than the alumnus angle, that's a non-starter.

Agreed. He's going to be an NFL coach in a year or two. Why take a tough college gig? Just polish your resume as OC of a Super Bowl winning team with an outstanding young quarterback.

I think Bert would do well at Colorado. The PAC 12 doesn’t want that downhill running game

Assuming they can’t get Bieniemy, I really hope they just keep Chiaverini for a year and go through a real search next off-season.

fricking Bert...

We're gonna see if you can indeed overdose on weed once Bert downs 7 pans of brownies in one sitting washed down with a fifth of Tito's.

Would Bert moving to Colorado jeopardize this ranking??

THE 10 FITTEST STATES IN AMERICA

#1 – Colorado

Obesity Ranking: 1st place
Total Gyms Ranking: 8th place
U.S. Region: Mountain

Not only is Colorado the Fittest State in our entire country, but it has maintained this status for over a decade, which is downright remarkable.

How the fittest state in America compares to the rest:

Highest rate of physical activity
Lowest rate of adult obesity
Lowest rate of adult diabetes
Second-lowest rate of hypertension
Third-lowest rate of overweight children
Fifth-lowest rate of obese children
Second-lowest rate of obesity in two to four-year-olds on WIC
Besides going to one of Colorado’s 394 fitness centers, Colorado has a lot to offer for adventures in the great outdoors.

We could all learn a thing or two from Coloradans. Their way of life is the healthiest across the U.S.!

Get Up and Out!

Bert got fat as a hog in Arkansas. He’ll soon be the size of a buffalo at Colorado.

Remember when Colorado (ranked #3 in the BCS) gashed BCS Title runner-up Nebraska for about 600 yards on the ground in the Big 12 Title game?

And then rushed for 49 yards on 23 carries against Oregon in a Fiesta Bowl beatdown.

And then when Ol' Brett took his team to Pasadena, they rushed for 212 yards on 46 carries while Oregon rushed for 345 yards on 40 carries.

Yeah, Pac doesn't want that downhill running game of the mighty Brett.

They should hire him. He'd probably settle for $2.6 million over five years, bigger bucks than he's making now + living in Colorado, and playing in a weak conference he should be able to win some games.

He bit off more than he could chew here, but he could be a big dog in that conference.
