It’s called INTENTIONAL grounding. Don’t tell me the route doesn’t matter.

They HAVE to stop calling that intentional grounding. That’s so stupid

I'm either way. Would be okay if they didn't call those.(Eta: because it's clear in situation like this that it's not intentional)

On the other hand, you know it's a possibility it could be called and it's a risk you take when you design offensive plays that have an option component.

By sticking to the letter of the law, makes it easier to referee. Instead of it becoming a gray area, in which I'm sure we would then have a bunch of controversial calls.

He also wasn’t under significant pressure. If there is a guy at his feet lulling him down certainly that can be considered differently. It was clearly just them not on the same page.

Why did they wind the clock after an incomplete pass? Clock was at 23 so run off should have been to 13. Clock shouldn’t have ran, right?

Intentional grounding doesn't stop the clock

I bet Bengals tonight, and I’m still pissed at that intentional groundong call. Its a disgrace to the game.

i don’t think I’ve noticed the clock restart after an incomplete pass due to grounding

It's the worst named penalty, as they clearly allow all sorts of intentional grounding. They should change it to "illegal grounding".

If the QB is not facing imminent loss of yardage it’s not supposed to be grounding.

Refs need to read their own rule book.

McCaully is a shill bitch too.

There would have been a foul if he dropped it.
