I think A lot of it is about the confidence to let it rip in actual game play.
If he can develop his shot he will be a top 5 player in the league.

So what? Pretty sure 90something% of the nba works on their jump shot

He needs to take it from ft line.
Two birds. one stone.
One guy, maybe Hal Greer, took a little hop jump at the line.

I always think summer rec league highlights are the funniest. You can make anyone look like a decent player by editing out the misses or bad shots and there are not stats to show how good/bad a player actually was.

Yawn. Every summer now.

That video is pretty terrifying

So a professional basketball player making 9 figures was able to hit a few shots on a highlight clip from a summer practice session?

That’s hideous to the point that it looks like he’s shooting with the wrong hand.
It blows my mind how guys can play basketball their entire lives and not develop a smooth and repeatable stroke.

Maybe that's his problem. He is actually right handed
Saw a stat somewhere that 80%+ of his "shots" are with hisi right hand and there are clips out there of him shooting right handed at the free throw line. Honestly, they don't look any worse than his shots left-handed. He does everything else right handed.

The videos from last summer would lead you to believe that Jahlil Okafor was going to be a KD clone.

He has been practicing his jump shot for years. He always goes back to what works in games.

This was recognized years ago. The fact is Ben Simmons will never have a jump shot. Ever. Same for Giannis.
If you ever hear "just wait until he develops a jumpshot" then know you are talking to someone who has no clue how difficult and rare it is for a non-shooter/bad shooter to develop a reliable or good jumpshot.
Ben Simmons has shitty form and if he tried to change it he will end up with Markelle Fultz in the shooting department. Honestly that wouldn't be any worse than it is now.

Marc Gasol took 66 threes in his first 8 seasons, shooting 18%. Over the last 3 years, he's shot 861 and made 36%.
Brook Lopez shot 31 threes in his first 8 seasons, shooting 16.7%. Over the last 3 years, he's shot 1,224 and made 35%.
There are plenty of players who have similar progressions. You think they were always good shooters who weren't allowed to shoot, or did they get good at shooting over time?

Did you see how easy it was for him to get to the rim and dunk? Thats how.
