Bama having a chance to win a title with this resume = the whole system is broken
There's no justifying it, IMO

The only team I see beating Alabama is one with a competent quarterback like Oklahoma. You can’t be so 1 demesional and do biddy league style plays because your QB cant throw and expect to beat them.

It stinks teams get to play a bunch of cupcakes before that is revealed. Too few teams get in to waste it on a team with such a liability at QB. Even osu last year had the same issue.

If a 1-loss team that wasn't your rival got passed over for a 2-loss team that lost by 31 to an unranked team, I'm sure your opinion would be different.

As an LSU fan, Bama getting in is a good thing going forward.

1. It could lead to expansion

2. Even without expansion, it once again shows that you don't have to even play in a conference championship game, i.e. Win your division, in order to make the playoffs.

This is highly relevant to LSU as we can go undefeated except for a regular season loss to Bama and still make the playoffs.

It's why the NFL playoff format is much superior as it doesn't give a flying frick about style points and only cares about the right number of W's and L's.

It's great as human emotion and bias doesn't exist in it.

It's funny you think they'll give anyone but Bama that same line of thinking or benedit of the doubt.

It's funny how you don't remember OSU from last year...

Hence the whole "once again" part

This is truly wishful thinking on your part as any team not named Bama, USC or even Ohio State will not be getting this kind of preferential treatment at all.

Bama could've never backdoored in 2011 and 2017 without ESPN shilling so hard for them.

In a playoff format like this, resumes and titles should matter.

But the NFL doesn't require conference winners to make the playoffs.

ETA: bad English

Meant to say that the NFL doesn't limit playoffs to conference winners.

This is why WE HAVE TO HAVE AUTO-BIDS. WIN YOUR CONFERENCE.

But somehow you same people who think this shite is broken also don't want auto bids. Something has to give.

NFL teams play comparable schedules.

Unless we’re willing to redistribute teams across various conferences in order to equalize everyone’s schedule, the system we have is one we keep. Expand to 8? Go ahead. Autobid for Bama and you all continue to melt anyway.

I'm all for autobids

It's basic logic

Win your division or stay the frick at home

The NFL can and has had teams with losing records make the playoffs solely because of the arbitrary divisions they are placed in, ahead of multiple teams with better records.

Keep melting

I legitimately don't understand why Alabama being in this playoff is a big deal.

Because you're a Bama fan.

You've rationalized logical fallacies so you can enjoy a title run.

It's natural.

Then your logic is shite.

Not all divisions are created equal.

You are essentially advocating a pre-Wildcard NFL playoff system where a clear cut #2 team in the country gets penalized for being in the same division as the #1. (See 49ers and Saints in the early 90s)

You are advocating for a system wherein multiple 2 or 3 loss teams could be in the playoffs simply because they won a P5 conference championship game. No matter how terrible the conference that year.

Your line of thinking is not much different than the same logic that gave a 7-9 Seattle team a home game against an 11 win Saints team that didn't win the NFC South. Except in that scenario, the Saints wouldn't even be in the playoffs.

And yet those teams with losing records still are the best teams of their divisions and they get automatic bids. And that is the system everybody supports because it rewards division winners.

A numbers based system is much better system than a flawed one like the CFP that is devalued more and more by human emotion and bias.

It's like complaining about Hillary Clinton getting more popular votes than Trump and still losing.

arbitrary divisions

If you're complaining about arbitrary divisions, why aren't you complaining about Bama not making it to atlanta having a better record than auburn?
