Yeah, I really like him! I think he can win this fight too. He needs to keep building up his stamina though.

Fury has had two fights the last six months

Wilder can knock him out but Fury is the far superior boxer

Can't say I'm much of a Wilder fan, but I too think Fury is going to show him something he's not seen before, besides a guy that is a bit bigger than himself.

Wilder has a lot of holes in his fight game. Backing straight up, often with his chin in the air, lousy footwork and those really amateurish windmill punch sprees he's famous for. I laugh every time he goes into amateur hour punch mode and swings from the fences and actually coming off his feet doing it.

Anybody that knows anything about boxing knows power starts at the balls of the feet, firmly planted in the ring, not levitating inches above it.

Wilder's biggest asset is his raw power, and that's not going to be enough one of these days.

Heavyweight division is as thin as it's ever been. Wilder has fought nothing but bums so it's tough to gauge how good he really is. This fight won't do it as Fury is just king of the bums. The only decent test he could potentially face is Joshua.

Yep, not much in the way of a lot of talented heavyweights out there right now for sure.

Like my above post, I'm not enamored with Fury either as a fighter. He's definitely a strange bird and his own worst enemy at times, but he does possess some pretty good fundamentals, more so than Wilder. His ban from boxing, drug and alcohol issues, serious weight gain prior to restarting training, etc. have all worked in his sabotaging his career.

If he comes into the fight in shape, I give him a very good chance of beating Wilder and will go as far as to say, possibly KO the Bama native. I think Fury will have Wilder definitely stepping in some post holes during the fight.

Lots. He’s a big Alabama fan himself. Spoke to the team during training camp.

which he would not win

AJ also had elite power and is a way better boxer

AJ's weakness is his chin tho, but he's stayed tough the last few fights. He took some hard shots the other weekend.

HUGE Wilder fan but admit I'm a bit worried about this fight.

Fury is a fricking goofball but he's VERY athletic to be that big and has a very good jab. He doesn't have much power to speak of so this will simply be a case of Wilder being patient and having to actually set up that soup bone right hand of his.

If Fury gets in there and clowns around he's going to get knocked the frick out but if he does what he is capable of doing, DW might get his first loss.

I think the current crop is better than what we had like a decade ago.

I don't know why you'd be shocked. It would be hard to imagine Fury is the same guy from 3 years ago after mountains of cocaine and gaining and dropping ~200 lbs. It's funny that Fury's antics outside the ring on social media and media appearances have made people forget what an incredibly boring fighter he is IN the ring.

Fury's strength before was that he was awkward and hard to hit and moved amazingly well for his size, but he's never been much of a puncher. If he can make this a boring fight and keep Wilder at bay, he might be able to win but there's a much better chance that Wilder knocks him out within 6 rounds.

Funny thing is I don't know what this fight will tell us about either guy no matter who wins. If Wilder wins--what version of Fury is he fighting? We have no way of knowing what beating a possibly vastly diminished Fury will tell us about him. If Fury wins, what do we really know about Wilder? Wilder's technique is horrible and he's gotten away with it because he's been beating up on shite competition. He has great power but looks like a basketball player in a celebrity boxing exhibition. He hasn't improved at all technically over his career but gets away with all these boxing sins by relying on concussive punching power. ~50?-year old Ortiz had Wilder almost done but his conditioning gave out. Respect to Wilder for coming back from the beating he was taking but it's really hard to evaluate what that win means.

At least it'll be an interesting contrast in styles and gets us closer to AJ vs the winner. AJ has all the tools to be a Hall of Famer but has shown vulnerability, which makes him a fascinating champion.

Vlad also had vulnerabilities but changed his style then put a stranglehold on the HW division for 10 years. It took him getting beat early in his career to change. Let's see if Joshua is smart enough to change without having to take a loss.

I'm not a Joshua hater but I loathe his promoter.
