I've always thought that a kicker could try that with his opposite foot. That guy did it one better!

You guys know this is done in soccer on a weekly basis, right?

So what? IT'S NOT A SOCCER BALL...CAPECHE?He's got
a much smaller margin for error with a FOOTBALL and
has to kick it a precise distance and coordinate with 10
other FOOTBALL players...now go watch the premier
league or troll a soccer board if you can find one that has
more than 3 people on it.

You think it's easier to do that with a football that isn't moving? Good god you're dumb.

There are several ways in which this could have went really bad for the kicker and made him look like an idiot. That is an amazing kick to pull off under pressure.

Yes and it's not even close. You do understand that a FOOTBALL is a different shape than a SOCCER ball,
correct? And there's only a limited surface on the FOOTBALL that you can kick?
This happens "all the time in soccer" really? Did they
start wearing pads and playing with a FOOTBALL?
Happens all the time, right?

dude, it's a really cool trick and it's great that he brought it to football and pulled it off, but i could teach you how to do what he did in about 30 seconds as long as you arent physically handicapped.

Relax. First of all, there is a very limited surface area on a soccer ball you can kick to pull this off and it does happen often in soccer. That said, it was a brilliant move to try for an onside kick. Surprised no one else has tried it yet.

It was a phenomenal kick for a lot of reasons, but the timing at the angle was so perfect. I've always thought that if you practiced this enough times with your kicker and like 2 guys on each end of the kickoff team, you could develop an unstoppable onside kick. I mean to have the timing down as far as the time it takes the ball to roll 10 yards at that angle relative to the speed of the guys covering it. If they don't have to break stride and they're basically less than a step behind the ball when it hits 10 yards, I would think your cover guys beat the hands team 10 out of 10 times because of several factors. The aesthetics or style of the kick wouldn't matter if they developed that impeccable timing.
Also, credit goes to Owlie, because he took this kid out and showed him a good time and his titties (on his 3rd and final visit) and it was more than enough to convince this awesome kicker to sign on dat dotted line.
