Swanson 182 K's in 2022. 1 Million per K. Just that makes me feel it isn't worth it? Anybody else feel the same way?

I'd be ok w/$25/per. Which is what Bowden thinks he gets.

And 182 K's is not that bad in today's game.

He isn't worth that for a few other reasons also, starting with you better perform before your contract year if you want a long term deal and like Correa his offense hasn't been consistently high enough for long enough.

Dansby has got incrementally better offensively every year and finally put it together the last 2 seasons.

All you people wanting him gone will be the first ones on here melting when he's somewhere else and we have a below-replacement level player at short.

Careful what you wish for.

No one wants him gone. We just don’t want to massively overpay him. Especially with so many other SSs on the market.
If it came down to him or Grissom, then of course we’d want Dansby.

I don't wanna pay him 30/year, that's way too much, but I think anywhere between 22-25 is reasonable.

Plus AA doesn't hand out huge AAV's to one player, he likes an even payroll where everyone is in the same ballpark.

He needs to work on his power before that happens.

He only started playing the OF this year.

Why does AA keep getting shitty hitters for OF depth?

Dominant at AAA. Saw some speculation he was hurt badly by the shift at the big league level.

I doubt he makes the roster unless he blows peoples minds at Spring Training. Gave up nothing for him, can't hurt.

At best he's our Heredia replacement. At worst it's like Broski said, low risk.

Would have been nice if he had just opted out and taken $6.5M + free agency but this is better than paying him the full $12.5M.

I asked Scott Boras if he could see the Braves going after Correa or Bogaerts (his clients).

He said ATL seems to have clear opinions on the SS market.

"I would say, clearly, the Braves have a pecking order among the shortstops, no doubt,” Boras added as part of his answer.
