Mad Max Fried vs. some bow-legged tusslefrick.

chompin' at the bit, eh?
Gotta love baseball season when your team is winning. everynight to me feels like a Saturday or Sunday during football season.

Yea, man. There’s much to discuss. Probably.

Got a feeling this will be a tough series for us. Fried tonight, Bryse tomorrow and Dallas on Wednesday. Nats are off today and have the Orioles tomorrow and Wednesday.
The weekend is setting up for these matchups
Strasburg/Teheran
Corbin/Soroka
Anibal/Fried
Max (likely)/Bryse

We need to split that Washington series, and the best shot will likely be the Soroka/Fried games.
Maybe Scherzer will experience a setback and have his reactivation pushed a couple of days lol.

I would not be against pushing everyone back one day and possibly starting Newk on Wednesday to have Dallas on Thursday.

The last half of July for us, damn:
@Brewers -2nd in the NLC.
Then we play the Gnats 7 times in 2 weeks (best team in MLB since May 24th—they’re 30-12 over their last 42 games)
We finish the month with 6 straight away games @PHI and @ WAS.
We won’t see either PHI or WAS again until September.
Edit: also the trade deadline. Has the potential to be epic if we stayed focused.

This week is huge for us. It would be nice to win 2/3 from Brewers and go 5-1 on the road trip, then I would absolutely take a split in the Nats series.

I am in the middle of September in my MLB the Show Braves franchise (playing every game lol. I usually play 1 or 2 a night after everyone goes to bed as a wind down from dealing with a wife and 2 kids on top of work).
I guess I didn't pay much attention to the schedule in real life, because I never noticed that we have 2 weeks of nothing but Nats/Phillies. It would be nice to build a big time leading heading into that stretch so we don't have to stress about it too much.
It's something like 4 @ Washington, 4 vs Phils, 3 vs Washington, 3 @ Phils.
On a side note, I spent all year in 2nd place behind Philly (had Donaldson, Albies, and Swanson all go on the DL at the same time for 2 months each. Donaldson actually tore his calf again, which I found funny) and swept them in that 4 game series to go up half a game in the standings.

Why have we seemingly given up on Newk as a spot starter, and are instead trying to force Bryse Wilson into that role. I think they should switch, as I can see Bryse coming in and overpowering people for a couple of innings more than I can see him consistently make it through the lineup 3+ times. I know Newk hasn’t exactly set the world on fire as a starter but I think we’d get more quality innings out of him in that role.

I think its just how well hes done in the bullpen. As someone stated yesterday in the game thread though, I really hope Snit isnt about to go full retard with him and use him as a LOOGY, which he has a couple times now.

My guess is that Newk has come in and done exceptionally well in one particular role (and filled a need that we desperately needed to fill). If you start messing with that and yanking him around, then you are likely going to end up in a situation where you have now weakened your pen again without reaping the benefits of having him start. I think they'll probably role the rest of the year with him as a high leverage relief pitcher, and then revisit him as a starter this offseason.
He's doing well...no need to mess with that this year.

That was me, and it pisses me off every time Snit does that with Newcomb.

Fried looking strong so far. hopefully the long rest did him good and allowed him to reset a bit

He needed the rest badly
