Matt Jones from Arkansas
6’6 240 lbs with a 4.37 40 time and a 40 inch vertical
This is a guy that played QB until he got into the NFL. If he had played that position his whole life, I’m willing to bet he would’ve been more successful.

Buster Douglas is the #1 answer.
The guy had the talent to fricking knock out Mike Tyson but was apparently a lazy bum arse before that and then became a lazy fat-arse after whipping Tyson that he immediately lost his belt.
There was an article in SI years ago that his father trained him and they became estranged because he couldn't stand how lazy Douglas was.
His father thought he could've been the next Ali with that jab and chin.

So like 99% of all athletes?
There are few Jack's, Tigers, MJ's, Pete Rose, etc that had the passion to play hard every minute.

He should have been the next AP. He has that type of talent.

quote:Both killed his career. Changing positions going into your NFL career leaves to little to no chance of making it, and that’s not even taking drugs into consideration.
Matt Jones didn’t fade out because he changed positions. He faded out because he loved blow
Matt Jones is only one example.

Was gonna say the same.
Had the genes and athletic ability. His fight vs Tyson was no fluke...he was by far,the superior fighter that night.

My vote goes to Josh Gordon. From everything I’ve heard about him from some people in the league, he is the most athletic and skilled player in the NFL. Probably could’ve been better than Moss.
Gordon had freakish talent, but saying he could have been better than the most physically gifted football player I've ever seen is a stretch
