Crazy how far his star has fallen. He was THE guy for a period there but a few bad decisions later and he’s barely hanging on to a middling gig in a poor conference

Bama folks because I’ve seen conflicting things on this....Did he actually turn it down or did the offer get pulled once Saban came in play?

Rich Rod had such a crazy effect on LSU football. His choke job to Pitt got them the national title in 2007, and him not taking the Bama job allowed Saban to make Bama a power.

If they beat Pitt in 2007 he probably would not have ever left WVU

PAC still sucks no matter who gets hired out West...not long ago everyone thought the PAC was back in the discussion of best conference because of the coaches they brought in/had at the time

He turned it down. Saban was the next year, IIRC

Rich Rod caught lightning in a bottle with the spread when nobody was ready for the spread.

And caused a sea change in cfb that had ripple effects all the way to the NFL, for better or worse.

TLDR: sounds like he diddled an intern.

I think that Saban had Sexton reach out to Moore at UA as he was failing in Miami during the Rich Rod rumors. From what I remember, I think RR was the target and in deep discussions before Sexton/Saban reached out.

His low point was probably singing and crying to a josh groban song at a UM postseason banquet

And had dinardo hired him as OC we never would have gotten Saban

He couldn't keep his dick in his pants when he was at WVU. I know he got kicked out of the house on at least one occasion. Always rumors of affairs swirling about him in a small college town like Morgantown.
