There can’t be many worse franchises when you think about lack of success, fan support or ownership.
Here’s a pic of fans at the game Saturday night... all watching Duke UNC OT

And being from Charlotte, it’s got to be one of the worst pro cities in the country as well. (Not too saying much)

If not one of the worst, certainly the most irrelevant.

I’d say that helps with them being the worst

Huge Deal.
The Charlotte Hornets are the 4th basketball team in that state.
During the Duncan years and the random years Wake has a good team, the 5th team

So they're playing a Luka and Porzingis-less Mavericks team and people still go to the game while Duke and UNC is on? The IQ level in the area must not be the highest

There's 82 chances a year to see the Hornets. Only two chances to see UNC-Duke.

If the NBA were smart they would have put the Hornets on the road for that night.

Or have the hornets play at 1pm?

It’s low.

Smoothie King Center looked like that for LSU/Missouri overtime a year ago, and the Pelicans are a top tier franchise. So no.

The hornets aren’t one of the worst American sports franchises?

NBA couldn’t do that for a reason that should be pretty obvious if you look at the schedule for 30 seconds.

XFL?
No one in Charlotte cares about either.

Charlotte is a transplant city. The population boom is from people all over the country, and the teams are relatively new so you dont have multi-generational fans like you do in other pro sports cities.

Also, there usually something better to do so unless the team is good no one really cares.

I would agree with this
The biggest NFL teams in Charlotte are probably the Giants Steelers Patriots and Cowboys

The problem is with North Carolina, like most of the south, professional sports struggle because college sports is king. Just like you go north east and pro sports is king and no one cares about college sports
