I'll be sold when/if he beats Tom Brady and the Patriots.

Love the kid's physical tools just not sold on his ability to really learn the playbook inside and out and to stay out of trouble. Rooting for him tho - fantastic fans in KC and they deserve a winner!

You not serious are you?

He may be one of the most well mannered athletes in the today's sports world.

Leave it to a Tom Brady lover to misunderstand how to rate QBs.

Here's a hint - the QBs aren't on the field at the same time.

He kicked the Hogs arse in college. I love the kid. His parents need an award for raising a fine young man outside of football.

I'm sold on him being a top tier QB, although time will tell if he's Hall of Fame level. He was in the perfect situation to have a 'redshirt' year (unusual these days for 1st round picks) and learn under a veteran QB and fully absorb Reid's system, plus having the most electric playmakers I've ever seen on one team that can take a slant pass for 80 yard TDs.

I'm guessing playing QB in the NFL can be extremely humbling when adversity challenges the team, whether due to injuries, tough losses, coaching changes, etc. How he reacts to that situation when it comes up will be telling.

I think it was sarcasm regarding the usual criticisms of black quarterbacks.

In case anyone ever tries to impress you by citing the USA Today as a source.

USA Today grades the 2017 first round draft picks

quote:

10. Patrick Mahomes, QB Texas Tech — Kansas City Chiefs (from Buffalo)

GRADE: C-

Analysis: Calling Mahomes a project is a major understatement. He’s nowhere near ready to play in the NFL. And, honestly, he may never be. Between his inconsistent accuracy due to poor mechanics, his tendency to bail from clean pockets and his lack of field vision, he’s going to leave as many big plays on the field as he creates. This was a risky pick.

Stay out of trouble? What has he ever done to suggest he would struggle with that?

To be honest, they were like half right. There are bigger whiffs than that when it comes to draft prospects.

it takes 3 years to determine a NFL QB, whether it be always hurt, bad, mediocre, good, it takes over 8 years to be listed as great.

This cat has a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong way to go to be considered great, like see me in 2027.

is he doing well? yes, after a few games he is doing well. The longer you play, the harder it gets, body gets old, injuries, and your BS usually gets figured out by defenses. Once over 30 you can only play as a pocket passer, because well running ruins your career.
