probably going to next weekend's race in Barcelona. It would be my first f1 race, wondering if any of you have been and could provide some insight of what is to come.
TIA

Get there when the gates open and get an autograph session wristband. Target a lower tier team and you may get some time to chat with the drivers.
The practice and qualifying are more entertaining than the race itself.

How can it be entertaining to watch someone drive a car? I can understand the allure of driving a car like that, but watching it seems very boring to me.

Yep, a couple...the race itself goes by faster than you expect, the cars are fantastic, nothing will be cheap, and it will be fun.
I had an awesome experience last year here a COTA but, sadly, my connection for that has gone away...

Yes I've been to 2 USGP's. One in Indy and one in Austin. Try and find seats near the top of your section so you have a better vantage point.

I love watching the race strategy unfold. When to pit, when not to pit, which tires to take, deciding if you do a two or three stopper, etc. That's not even mentioning the battles for position either.

I don't give a crap about NASCAR on just an oval...but I'd love to see an F1 race.
Superbike races at Laguna Seca are fun as hell because you can walk the course with a backpack of beer and see the races from different vantage points.
I assume you can do the same at places like Monaco, walk the course.

I have never been to one but I was in Montreal when they were running a couple of times for work.
From what I gather you want to be in town for race week, was a lot going on.
and the curves on that course were amazing, went by it, is on an island in the river I think
Race site
still the second week in June
