Any hockey fans on here?
Born and raised in MS, as far as I knew hockey was a distant occurrence in northern states, Canada and the USSR. Never watched a minute of it until probably 10 years ago. Now I'm starting to come around to it and realize I like it.

Anyone else not grow up a hockey fan but get into the sport lately?

I've always watched a lot of the playoffs, but yeah I'd say I have gained an interest in the sport overall in the last five years or so.

Watched the Louisiana Icegators minor league ECHL team in Lafayette back in the day. Taught me the rules and how the game is played. Once the franchise dissolved, lost interest as I didn’t have a home team.

Moved to Vegas in 2013. When the Golden Knights were formed, I jumped right back in. Started to gain interest to what happens around the league and now I’m hooked. Love the sport.

Hockey is the best north american sport. They play hard the entire season and the playoffs are a god tier level of intensity. It's quick paced and has real finesse alongside actual toughness.

ETA: The bigger it gets the more the intensity will get sucked out of it similar to the other big 3 sports. The players in football and basketball are basically too valuable which is why we are seeing tons of softening of those sports and things like load management.

Yea, I was born and raised in Jax Beach Fl. Never really followed hockey until I moved to Colorado. My company has a box in Ball arena, so I’ve been to over 30 Avalanche games now. I’m huge Av’s fan, and the games are as much fun as any sporting event I’ve ever been to.

Cam Brown GOAT. I played on the junior team from 5th grade through high school. Still have most of my jerseys.

No better way to spend $2 than on a chuck-a-puck on a Friday night after eating a Pizza Hut personal pan pizza and a cold Coke.

Went to many Brass games when I lived in New Orleans. The I-10 road trips to see the team elsewhere were a blast. After moving out here to Vegas, I went to a few Wranglers games. The 11:59 pm puck drop games every year were fascinating people watching experiences.

VGK games are great but ticket prices can put a hurt on the wallet, so I find myself doing watch parties more than games. I'm sure that I'll catch a couple of Silver Knights games where they actually move out to Henderson. That said, eff the morons who gave arena naming rights to Dollar Loan Center.

I wasn't one as a kid but into my 20's I really got into it. It is the best sport to see live. The speed is unreal in person, especially come playoff time.

Go Pens!

He can DIAF.

And be prepared, all of the neanderthals who only just started following hockey b/c of Wilson and think nearly ending someone's career is cool are gonna come in here and call you "soft" , or a "pussy", etc.

Used to go to ECHL games in Winston-Salem and Greensboro back in the early 90s. The skill level wasn’t all that great but tickets ans beer was cheap. The Greensboro Monarchs were coached by a former NHL enforcer and they fought a lot (as did a lot of the other ECHL teams).

I rarely miss a Canes game these days, they are pretty good this year.

Best game on earth! The second and third rounds of the playoffs are off the charts intense. Usually better than the finals. Teams are usually very equally matched. By the time they beat the crap out of each other only one team is left unscathed
