Zion Williamson is used to getting snubbed by Anthony Davis.

Williamson, in a documentary made in 2016 in which he extols the importance of signing autographs, revealed he was once turned down by Anthony Davis — a rejection that made an impact on his life.

Williamson, who will be headed to New Orleans after the Pelicans won Tuesday’s lottery, could become teammates with Davis, though it is likelier the disgruntled Anthony is traded, possibly to the Knicks.

Williamson was 16 years old at Spartanburg (S.C.) Day School when the documentary on his high-school exploits was filmed by Home Team Hoops.

The video shows clips of Williamson giving out his signature to his young fans in South Carolina before he became a national phenomenon.

“When I was little, I looked up to high-school players and wanted their autographs and sometimes I couldn’t get it, I’d be hurt,” Williamson says on camera. “I said when I grew up, I don’t want to be like that. I want to sign every kid’s autograph. No matter how long it takes me.

“I try to sign every kid’s autograph. I don’t want to turn a little kid down because I know it will hurt them because it hurt me. Anthony Davis, John Wall turned me down. So I try to sign everybody’s.”

Keep in mind, Zion was SIXTEEN years old when this video came out. He wasn't even a senior in HS yet. So this isn't some big deal to make out of it.

I just thought it was someone humorous and interesting.

I love this kid so much more than AD already. He just seems to be a very down to earth kinda guy.

So he was 16 years old and got turned down by AD for an autograph and that rejection has made an impact on his life?

Oh man....he's going to be in for a rude awakening if that kind of shite bothered him as a 16 year old.

Zion should send AD an autograph and tell him it will be worth more than the one he didn't get.

I was pissed of at Chipper for not signing a foul ball we had caught in a game the previous year when we were at spring training when I was 7. Looked over at all the kids and kinda laughed and kept walking. Never really liked him after that. Fast forward 10 years and we were back at spring training...I did not care about an autograph then but a little kid, probably about 7 as well asked him for one and his response was I got a job to do. You wouldnt have a job if not for the fans, and when its only 10-20 kids at spring training, you make the time....I get when its a bunch of fat old men who just want to sell it at their sports memorabilia shop.

Respect to Zion for this. He knows he is going to be kids idol and to get that signature is something they will remember for forever.

He as 16 when this video was made. He was not even a teenager when he was snubbed.

People are going to make a mountain out of a molehill out of this. Its not a big deal.

But I did post it on here for the lulz, so

When I was a kid I saw Russ Johnson and Todd Walker leaving the old Alex Box after a game. Russ signed my ball and Todd didn't. Still pissed to this day.

If that's the reason he makes it a point to sign autographs for fans, then yes.

He actually seemed fairly quiet and humble before this season.. just fragile and wouldn’t play through small injuries. He turned into a piece of shite when LeBron gained his ear.

I had a different experience with Todd when I was a kid. IDk, I never had an issue as a kid having any LSU baseball players sign whatever. The pro players were always different. Kids always got the "come back after the game" line before the game, but then the players never came back to sign stuff for kids after the game. I get it, but at the end of the day, these people only have a job because of the fans, and slighting a kid is pretty sad.

Okay. I was going to say that they should make the Duke phenom stand for hours & sign every autograph of some snot nose kid who sticks a pen in his face.

Zion is going to practically snub / ignore thousands of kids before his career is over.

I think every kid who ever gets any athlete or famous person to sign something for them should feel lucky that the person took the time to do that, and nobody should ever have to feel bad for not giving in to such demands.
