Just keep a guy on your roster who doesn't want to be there

They’re not keeping him on the roster through his contract. They’re trading him in the offseason when Boston can join in and we know where the ping pong balls fell.

How is this hard?

So the NBA wants the Lakers to win but several years ago nixed a Lakers trade for Paul... So do they want them to win or not?

AD's demand only benefits the Lakers.

Toronto and OKC beg to differ.

You know AD can torpedo the Pels leverage even more if they piss him off, right?

He knows they aren’t trading him in the next two weeks.

Everyone knows this.

How’d that work out for San Antonio?

I don't understood the timing unless he wants nothing to do with Boston. If that's true, his value as a one year rental isn't really elite.

Poorly. Are you insinuating otherwise?

Maybe he made up his mind and notified the Pels shortly thereafter?

Sending him where he'll re-sign will get you more value than sending him to Phoenix.

Were you people seriously under the impression that the Pels were going to trade AD in the next two weeks?

Lol.

If they get the offer they want, why wouldn't they?

They can’t get the offer they want. They can’t get many offers until July.

Y’all are seriously misinformed. He will be a Pelican until the Summer.

They can't get what they want if AD won't sign with the new team. This idea that Boston will offer some all world package is asinine if he doesn't want to go there.

ETA - I think he'll probably remain a pelican until the summer too, but his timing makes Boston seem far fetched.
