The Jets beat two teams who will be playing in the divisional round this weekend. Next question.

I say this every year... if the question is could, the answer is yes.
App State beating Michigan was a bigger upset than a national title team beating a bad NFL team. There was maybe one player on that App State team even physically capable of making Michigan’s roster. Every starter on a national champion is physically capable of playing in the NFL. They don’t have the game intelligence of pros yet, but it’s not like they’d be getting bullied out there based on size.
I mean look at how good many ‘19 LSU players are already good in the NFL.

They would get mauled on the lines of scrimmage. Take Lloyd Cushenberry, for example. He has had a horrendous rookie season for the Broncos.

They would but they’d hold up better than an FCS team would against a good P5.
I mean an FCS team’s line gives up like 100+ pounds on the lines. SEC lines are basically the same size as pro lines.
I’m not saying they would win or even be close. But
could they win or ‘19 LSU or ‘18 Clemson? Yes, they’d have a better chance than an FCS team does against a P5 outside of like Kansas.
FCS players are incapable of playing at the P5 level. National champion players are just a year or two away from being NFL starters.

I think it’s been one every year for the past three years. ‘19- Georgia Tech, ‘18- Kansas, ‘17- Baylor
That’s probably what 3 out of maybe 100 games?
All of those were really, really bad P5 teams. The last time I remember a solid P5 going down was Iowa to NDSU, and NDSU would be a bowl team in a G5 league.
No but every player on a national champion probably will be on an NFL roster at some point.

No but the gap isn't what it once was, last years LSU or this years Bama could score points I believe and make a game reasonably respectable, not sure they would have much success stopping a pro team.

Sure why not. If the Jets can beat the Rams in the regular season (17 point underdog), Bama could on any given day beat the Jaguars (similar hypothetical spread).
Sure a win by Bama happens only once or twice out of 20 games in that scenario, but it could happen.
People are always so rigid about this argument - OMG A COLLEGE TEAM WOULD NEVER WIN!! Of course Bama could beat a crappy NFL team, but it’s obviously unlikely.

"...there was a time when one of the major events of the American sports year was a game between the reigning NFL champions and a team of college all-stars...
Known as the Chicago Charities College All-Star Game, the contest was played every year from 1934 until 1976, with the exception of 1974, when it was canceled by an NFL players’ strike. Soldier Field hosted every game except the 1943 and 1944 games, which were played at Northwestern’s Dyche Stadium." NBC Sports

This was back when NFL players had second jobs in the offseason and didn't spend all year training like they do now.
