Alex Rodriguez plans to appeal a 211-game drug suspension related to the Biogenesis case and play Monday night for the Yankees against the White Sox, according to people involved the case. He will be the only one of the 13 players to appeal.

Rodriguez’s discipline under the Basic Agreement is for attempting to cover-up his violations of the Program by engaging in a course of conduct intended to obstruct and frustrate the Office of the Commissioner’s investigation. The suspension, which will become effective on Thursday, August 8th, will cover 211 Championship Season games and any 2013 Postseason games in which Rodriguez otherwise would have been eligible to play.

He's playing on the road. The amount of boo's raining down on him should rival Barry Bonds prime.

211 games is not even a full two seasons. Hell, it's not even 1.5 seasons.

They are playing the White Sox. Doubt anyone is even at the game

so since he's appealing does that mean he would technically miss the beginning of 2015 as well?

Looks like it if he plays through appeals
He is shooting for the home run for bonus and wanting his larger deal now

Yes, but he only makes 21 million in 2015 as opposed to the 29 mil he's making this year. so he's saving himself some $$.

I hope for every game he plays under appeal, two more games are added to his suspension once it actually starts.
