For the Acadiana area, which paper has better coverage for high school sports, the Daily Advertiser or the Acadiana Advocate? I would like to subscribe to one of them.

If their advocate is like BR and NOLA's, it should be adequate

the Daily Advertiser

Almost always crap, Gannet paper(it was substantially better before), used to be priced higher than every other paper in the area.

Used to be decent. Past experience was that if one of the papers had something that the other did not, the Advocate had it. Not a Gannet paper.

I've only subscribed to the Advertiser in the past but picked up both at times. If I were to subscribe again, it would be the Advocate.

I would have to sat the daily advertiser, simply because it's local and has local people. Not sure if the Advocate is.

just bought a copy of today's Acadiana Advocate. Not a single word about any Acadiana area high school sports in the sports section. Picked up the daily Advertiser and on the FRONT PAGE of the paper is a story and a big photo of Northside High football players and a local doc tor who recently donated over 40 pairs of cleats to team. Im going with the Advertiser.
Someone just told me the two papers have merged. ?

Could just simply be that one only covers High School sports on certain days.

Advertiser most definitely. Last year the Advocate didn't even bother to put scores on Saturday mornings. Their new sports editor is a damn clown.
