Any way you slice it, it is still a sad story.

if you came in the sperm bank, woman got impregnanted from your sperm, you get a phone call 3 years later saying your sperm child got ran over by a bus, i doubt you'd take off any days of work.

Not to be a complete arse but baby momma losing her ex boyfriend, child, and support checks. She pissed.

I doubt she even had support checks in the first place. She didn't know who was the father for sure until very recently it sounds.

AP likely has little emotional connection to this kid. I don't see how you could if you didn't know the kid existed.

Brett Favre's dad was already dead, so what was he going to do? This kid is still alive and was brutally attacked. If you don't see the difference then I don't know what to tell you.

So AD is going to save him and restore him to health? Also so if the kid dies by Sunday he is good to play? Just trying to figure your logic.

But this child didn't come from the sperm bank dude.

Now obviously if he didn't know of the child's existence that's a totally different story... No less tragic.

This woman used AP's sperm from a sperm bank? Seriously? If that's the case then frick it, I'm playing Sunday.

One would think this chick would have been trying to say it was AP's as soon as she found out she was preggo (lottery ticket).

Sounds like the BF thought it was is and snapped when he found out it wasn't.

He donated the sperm, but he wasn't the kid's dad. Judge him all you want for that. But it's his business how he handles the situation.

Favre chose to play through grief, no one judged him for that.

That's my thought as this has unraveled. Chick would have been set.

The ahole that killed this kid didn't think it was his. Articles are saying that was a new relationship.

sex doesn't give you more of a connection to the child you don't know.

Exactly....just hope they don't kill him. Just beat his arse every other day and let that motherfricker live in supreme fear on a daily basis.

Has ESPN been running this into the ground?

There's your variable.

I guess I'm just thinking about this through a "I know and care about my children and would never leave their side if they were in critical condition & if they died I'd be devestated for weeks" lens.

Maybe practice is therapeutic. Maybe just going back to work is the best thing for him.

I don't know.

This sounds like a weird situation all the way around & has be very awkward for Peterson altogether.

Completely disagree. That son came from a choice you made, where one of the normal consequences is in fact a child being conceived. I think there is definitely more of a connection there than just a sperm donor. I don't see how anyone with a conscience isn't pretty fricked up if their biological child is beaten to death, regardless of the the level of relationship that was held between them.

To be fair, by all accounts, AP is an upstanding dude. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt in this situation, however he handles it.

so donated sperm at a bank isn't a choice being made where the consequence is in fact a child being conceived?

evidently not when you've never met or really knew about the kid

do you know for a fact he is not?
