And the Pelicans are 4-5 during Boogie's absence?
Losses to LAC, SAC, MINN, UTA, and PHI?
I don't think AD finishes top 5 with a lousy or fringe playoffs record.
Doesn't matter because as it currently stands no one is going to be close to James Harden.

I'm glad Boogie talked some sense into AD. He was trying be a facilitator which is not his game at all. AD has finally settled back into his natural role. It'd be tough to name 3 more dominant players in the league at the moment

Yep. The 3-5 seeds are also 4-6 over the last 10.

Wins against OKC and DET in that same stretch. Both on the road.

Pels are .5 game out from 9th seed and 3 games back from 3 seed. The west is crazy as frick this year. I doubt we get the 3 seed but crazier shite has happened.

No one said James Harden was getting beat. AD just has a chance at top 3 MVP voting, which would be amazing given the injuries to the Pels this year.

They won’t make the playoffs. they are the worst of the 10 teams that have playoff chances.

You also said this

Stay' in the 5-7 range. that's cute. I think most would agree that you'd be lucky to be there at any point past the 10-15 games played mark. ...
You haven't been right about the Pels this year bubba. Stick to your weekly Rox threads.
I bet a lot of teams are happy that Boogie got hurt. Pels just started playing well together before Boogie injury. Even beat the vaunted Rox with Chris going off. Pels would have been a team no one wants to play come May.

Yea I am wrong a lot. But that is dwarfed by my correct calls. when you make a lot of picks you get a lot wrong. Pels won’t make playoffs bubba sorry.

Pels were borderline playoff team even with cousins.

6 seed when Boogie got hurt. .5 game or so back from the 5 seed. But yeah sure fringe playoff team sure.
Pels with Mirotic and Boogie this year are no worse than a 6 seed.

And we should get back Solomon hill who should help the defense substantially more than Miller and cunningham did.
Absolutely arse

Hill is one of the worse players in the league who gets consistent PT. Gerald green would be a big upgrade.

One thing the Pels have to figure out is AD can be very dominant yet it doesn’t seem to translate into wins. Over that stretch where AD is averaging 32 pts and 12 rebounds, they are 4-5.
Even previous seasons where AD had been in MVP conversations, they still couldn’t win.
Is there another team in the league that has a perennial MVP candidate that struggles not just to make the playoffs, but have a winning record year after year?
I’m not trying to be a dick, it’s an honest question. My theory had always been that its the nature of his position that makes it difficult for him to close out games. Ball-handlers have much more overall control of the offense, but AD has to rely on others to get him the ball. But I don’t know...

He doesn’t have that dog in him. Even in HS his squad was like 2-15 or something like that.

it's a legitimate question
I don't have an answer for you except that the pels are again the year the most injured team in the league. Couple that with some galactically poor team building and it likely mitigates his impact on wins and losses
davis has been tough to build around for a bunch of reasons

A lot of that has to do with depth. We had g leaguers playing. We're 3-3 with a three game win streak since we got mirotic.

True. But if you followed the Pels closely we've been fricked by the injury bug. At least one starter has missed significant time each year since we've gotten Anthony.

Davis has never been a perennial MVP candidate. Always in the discussion from time to time but never a serious threat at years end, and that's mainly due to the constant state of injury our team has.

I agree 100% and would add coaching decisions. Alvin for some reason thinks jrue should always get the final shot.

I'll also add that this year AD has gotten much better at having his back to the basket. His overall offensive game is damn near complete.
