Aaron Rodgers not happy with Matt LaFleur's joint practices: Drills not 'very smart'

Rookie Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur sounded thrilled with joint practices held with the Houston Texans this week.

“Absolutely, 100 percent I want to do this again,” LaFleur said Tuesday, according to Packers News. “I’d like to do it multiple times if we could.”

Veteran Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers? Not so much.

“I’m glad it’s over,” Rodgers said. “I wouldn't mind if they didn't do it for another 14 years.”

And so it begins.

When Green Bay hired LaFleur, a 39-year-old who had just come off a one-year stint as the coordinator of the 25th-ranked offense in the NFL, many questions were raised.

One of those questions was whether Rodgers, a Super Bowl winner and two-time league MVP, would respect the guidance of his new coach.

Green Bay hasn’t played its first game of the preseason, and Rodgers is already publicly questioning LaFleur’s decisions.

Rodgers questions the kickoff drills. nothing related to offense. i thought the green bay playbook looked pretty cool last night. i think their offense is going to have a big year.

misleading title is misleading

Yep, Rodgers was upset because they were installing new plays and then had to go vanilla for the joint practices with the Texans. He also said the live kick off drills were stupid, which they are as it got one of their guys hurt because rookie Lonnie Johnson was an asshat.

Eta: And both Rodgers and Lafleur have talked about how great their chemistry has been so far

Well considering there were Texans players taking dirty shots on Packers players he's right that it was stupid to have joint practices.

Rodgers is such a pussy arse bitch.... he's becoming the lebron james, in terms of coaching career killer, of the NFL...

and to think some people think he's one of the best QBs ever... you've got to be fricking kidding me... he MAY be top 15-20, tops....

He's only been MVP two-times over 10 years of ridiculous praise and adulation?

That really stands out.

Tom Brady, who many people consider the greatest of all time, has 3 MVPs over a 20 year career.

Dan Marino has 1.

Joe Montana has 2.

Do those stand out too?

I am a Packer fan and sometimes I tire of him, too, but one of the top 15-20 would be "one of the best ever".

A lot more than that are in the HOF
