AAF must be quite happy with how opening night went
The only thing people can find to complain about is 5 man blitzes and ugly uniforms.

Beat the NBA on ABC in ratings. Granted football always beats other sports in ratings and there is some novelty here with the opening weekend

re: AAF must be quite happy with how opening night went
i think we dont need to hear the thinking process of the replay official, just make the call and explain why is all we need. no need for the yes, no, maybe, yes, then again no, ok yes. that sounded so bad and she clearly had someone tell her it was a catch and she had to change her mind after we hear her saying definitively it wasnt a catch

the blitz rule is just stupid IMHO, if they cant pick up the blitz then the QB just gets sacked.

most of these guys played college ball and many played on NFL rosters so im not buying the BS that an all out blitz is such a foreign thing to them they cant handle it.

While I agree this blitz rule is a little lame, why are people so fixated on this?

This league has basically taken all of the shite people HATE about the NFL and changed it.

Games too long - shortened to 2.5 hours or less here with very little commercials.

Flags on every play - didn't see one PI flag all night last night.

Too much protection of the QB - did you see the hit on Bercovici last night? If that happens in an NFL stadium there will be 8 flags on the ground. Last night? None.

Overtime one team might not even get the ball? Not in the AAF.

No transparency or explanation on reviews? How about a mic'Ed up replay official explaining their logic or reasoning for the call.

Good to see Starter is still in business. I remember they made NFL uniforms for some teams during the 90’s.

i think its just about nothing more then people pointing out things they dont like with this new league rules rather then legit complaining at this point.

plus the explanation is strange since obvious head to head hits went uncalled, not that im complaining, i like stopping all the BS flags for everything. its just the reason they stated to have the illegal defense rule was player safety yet they let them play, which is good, but it contradicts their claims about being concerned with player safety so.....

i like everything i saw so far with the exception of this very strange blitz rule, and while i dont think it serves any real purpose, im happy with what i saw so far

re: AAF must be quite happy with how opening night went
they didnt do much of anything to advertise the league, yet still had the best ratings they could have hoped for

i was looking forward to watching the game today but its not on TV so much for the league surviving.

no TV = will not survive

how do you kill something new and interesting that people want to watch, you dont put it on TV or stick it on some low budget restricted access programming so people say screw it. you cant develop any new fans if there is no game for them to watch

You don't have CBS Sports Network? The game is being broadcast on CBS Sports Network. CBS Sports Network is not CBS. It is a regular cable channel dip shite.

CBS Sports Network is not a premium channel you fricking moron. It's basic cable channel.

Do you know how I am 100% positive I'm right? Because I have a basic cable subscription. And guess what? I'm watching the fricking game.

The uniforms and logos are so bland and "stock" looking. They look like generic made up teams you see in movies.

You're probably the only one who feels this way. I liked it.

Agreed. The line sucks anyways.
