Alliance of American Football owner Tom Dundon tells me a decision whether to shutter the 7 week old league could come as soon as tomorrow or days. He wants a development agreement with the NFL/NFLPA, but no evidence they are willing. Story in

Rich people and their money. Did he think they would just jump on board. If you can’t fund a season why even do it. What a waste of $.

Par for the course for our SAC. We finally have a good season and we won't finish it.

As a lifelong San Antonio Commanders supporter, this is devastating news.

The only way for a league to survive is to compete directly against the nfl. Go after the mid tier talent and maybe land a few stars. Play the games on tuesdays or Wednesdays during the nfl season. No one wants to see washed up nflers in the off season, it’s a terrible product.

My God what a galactic level of stupid. You'd think before he dropped $250 Mil he would have made sure such things were in place.

He didn’t drop $250,000,000 he just pledged it. He’s put in about $70,000,000 so far

There is just not enough good football players in the world to have a league compete with the NFL. Even if you took Tom Brady and put him on one if these nobody would watch.

I feel like there has been a similar tweet/report every week since this league started.

That argument doesn't hold water. No one with an objective brain thought this would be NFL level football. Two peewee teams can put on a good football game. The model of how these teams were put together is part of the problem. They tried to make the majority of the players regional to try to help attendance rather than go after the best players available.

Yeah but they usually aren’t quotes from the guy that’s supposed to directly be funding the entire league

Honestly the only time I’ve ever watched any of the AAF is when I’ve gone to a Buffalo Wild Wings or something similar and even then it was only for a few plays or so. Pretty meh

Shame. San Antonio and Birmingham had some great crowds.
