AUSTIN, Texas — Bru McCoy, a top 10 national prospect in 2019, is about to make the first return trip in the NCAA transfer portal — from Texas back to USC — in less than six months and before ever playing a down at either school.
According to sources close to the situation, McCoy informed Texas Friday, two days after meeting in Los Angeles with a Longhorns’ contingent that included head coach Tom Herman, that McCoy was re-entering the portal to return to USC. On Jan. 24, McCoy entered the NCAA transfer portal to leave USC for Texas.

That Texas heat probably played a part in this.

Apparently he didn't like the food, lol, and he never really gelled with the team and when he went back to LA after the semester ended, it hit him how much he wanted to come back and play with/be around his friends and family

This was honesty my first thought when I saw this...and I don’t blame him.

I would say Whataburger vs In-N-Out Burger, but if that were the case he would be staying in Texas .
He is 18 and it seems to be a case of homesickness - which I think is much tougher on early enrollees going cross country (1,000+ miles).

There are several In-N-Outs in Austin now though...

Does it mention why he left USC to begin with?
