3A baseball all state team came out and MVP is a freshman from Lutcher. Kids gotta be a stud. LSU on this guy?

Looks like another kid from Lutcher with the same last name also made the all-state team as a Sophomore.

Marshall Louque. He was the ace pitcher and SS for the Louisiana “River Ridge” team that won in Williamsport the summer before Covid.

I umpired a game this year he threw in, he looks to be the real deal.

Crazy that River Ridge had a kid all the way in Lutcher on that LLWS team. Not fishy at all lol.

That was my point with the “River Ridge”. I think the family had a water bill in their name in the district for him to be on that team. The Roussel kid that was a beast on that team I don’t think was exactly from the River Ridge area either. Not sure the exact area the district falls in but I pretty certain Lutcher and Paulina where louque is from was not in it.

Louque went to Lutcher for grammar school. Not surprising that is where he lands in HS
As for LL, not sure how that works. My guess is because it is the only one in the area, they are able to cast the net a little further. Thru had kids from chalmette & slidell & Nola

So basically the LLWS team was basically SELA and not just “Eastbank.”

Most of the kids went to school in Jefferson parish & that is not really a loophole according the LL site.
The Roussell kid was from destrehan. Which is closer to John Curtis (where east bank LL is located) than the further part of Jefferson parish out in Bucktown.
So if a kid went to St Louis King of France in Bucktown (east Metairie), he is traveling further than Roussell, who went to St Charles Borremeo in destrehan.
I don’t know the particulars but you are talking about 10miles from playground site. It’s not that far at all.
Lutcher is further out. Not sure how they got that one though.

So Eastland isn't just River ridge, it's where ever there whole charter trashes over. Being only ll is Sela, it takes up a huge area, I believe 4 or 5 parishes. Also if you attend school in that zone you can be on that team too. They didn't do anything crazy it's just their zone is huge.
As far as the travel ball comment
A) kids that play on those teams, play travel ball.
B) the best travel teams take kids from all over, much bigger zone sometimes even fly kids in
Top travel teams would destroy llws teams
