Yep.
They were minus Brady for 15 games one season due to injury, replacing him with Matt Cassel, and still went something like 11-5 after going 12-4 the season before.
Contrast that with the Colts when Peyton lost a year to a neck injury. They went from 10-6 to 2-14, worst record in the league.

The point is they still won 11 games. That season just so happened to be a rare instance of an 11-5 team missing the playoffs. When Manning got hurt, they went 2-14. I highly doubt the Saints would go anywhere near 11-5 if Brees got hurt.
