Yeah, but Lando is 100% going to finish 2nd or third so it doesn't matter when Max wins.

There's no way Oscar wouldn't let Lando pass during the race. Zero chance he finishes 2nd if Max wins.

The only driver that I see being anywhere near capable of helping to decide this in Max's favor is George
The question in my mind is, are they more concerned about Max, or each other? Piastri has, imo, an inner fire greater than Norris'. Is McLaren 'really' going to let them race and turn them lose? If so, the start tomorrow is going to be very entertaining.

I think Oscar’s last chance at the championship was to out qualify Lando and he didn’t get it done. I would think that was the end of the papaya rules for this season. Team will probably tell him slot into third at the start and let’s bring this thing home. Good season we will try again next year.

They forced Oscar to give Lando a win. The team orders seem firmly in place. No way they endanger each other, unless Oscar has a spontaneous fit of ambition, but that would likely be the end of his time with McLaren.

If Merc has Antonelli surrendering places, George surely won't make himself a factor. I guess the only, very faint hope for Max is Charles. My dream scenario is that Charles takes out Lando in the start (he'll be right behind him) and Lando and Max duke it out for the title, winner take all.

Alonso summed it up the other day. No one wants to be on the news as costing someone their championship.

Fells like we might get a 2016 race where the rest of the field stayed out of the 1st and 2nd place battle. 3rd place doesn't try to hard overtake 2nd and impact the championship.

Can’t say I remember 2016’s race off the top of my head. Was that Nico’s year?

McLaren has been fair all year to the drivers.

Watching P3 now and seeing Nico on the call. Wish he was on Qualifying too.

Piastri screwed himself by not qualifying better and falling off the table in Baku on.

McLaren has just about stepped on their own dick this year but should feel pretty secure after qualifying.

Yep. Lewis in 1st and needed Nico out the race or way back to win. Lewis drove at about 10 mph to push Nico back into 3rd place (Ricciardo maybe?). The theory was hoping a dive bomb or pass could result in contact.

Merc pushed some team orders telling Lewis to speed up and 3rd just never really made a move on Nico.

Just heard him tell the story of having to pass Max and the way his body was shutting down due to nerves during the race.

Seb was behind Nico.

I can’t blame Lewis for that. He was doing all he could do to win.

Thanks, didn’t remember all of that but agree it was a pretty amazing tactic.

Championships are always viewed better/different years later than what they were in the moment. Just remember it being an exciting race despite the outcome almost a forgone conclusion.

Went and read the race recap. 7 world champions on that grid plus Massa.

I think they'll be very polite with each other, along with Oscar. Lando can cruise to the championship in P3.

Lando will let max cruise by in T1 and even oscar, unless he's an idiot

It is not in Max’s best interest to just drive off into the sunset. He needs to keep everybody close together and hope something weird happens. He’s not gonna get in the car to just drive 58 laps with Lando in his mirror.

The most impressive thing the drivers do is patiently answer questions from the media

I don’t know how Lando is going to frick things up. All I know is that he’s somehow going to. I hope I’m wrong.
