No way. Perez needs to finish higher or else they will lose the constructors championship in the future.
RBR will always have a #1 and #2. But that #2 only gets to skate as long as it doesn't cost the team. Usually the younger driver gets to challenge though, so don't expect them to protect Max forever. Even though Horner kisses Max's pic before going to bed each night.
We have plenty of proof that RBR will get rid of #2 drivers who hurt the team placement. Even when they have no chance of challenging Max.

Ferrari imploding and Merc stinking it up gave the constructors to RB on a platter this year.
Like you say, if they return to form next year Perez will be a liability as he usually finished behind them while having a superior car this year.

With Bottas struggling last year, and somewhat in 2020, a strong #2 for Red Bull could have them as 2x or 3x defending Constructors Champions right now.

quote:Why would I? I never made that claim. You're moving the goalposts to try and run away from your absurd comment that Max thinks Checo is giving him competition.
Tell me where I said Checo is competing for championships
quote:Again, moving the goalposts from your original statement.
But he is more competitive than any other number 2 driver Max has seen
quote:So... no competition for Max, got it.
2 wins, 11 podiums and 305 points is nothing to sneeze at
quote:It's a terrible point because Checo is doing nothing of the sort.
That’s actually the whole point. Max can’t stand a whiff of someone else sharing his limelight

Jos is saying baby Max can’t win on his own so the teacher should put Checo in timeout

Like saying Checo Gabe Max competition is this year, fallacious like that?
Sorry, clearly another user with your exact handle that accused me of this. My apologies - it clearly wasn’t you.
No goalposts moving at my end. Perez was nowhere near Max this season when it came to the championship which I’ve stated multiple times. That doesn’t mean he didn’t push him in qualifying and atleast a few races. Albon couldnt do that and nor could Gasly. Perez is lot better than his previous teammates and that is enough to bother daddy and junior Verstappen to where they’re berating him publicly. Never mind that Perez still have him track position in every instance asked. It’s pussy behavior. That’s the point which you are missing

Did they berate Perez publically?

That's what you got? The mom called him out for fricking around on his wife? Maybe the wife just hates cheaters.
Hope there is a lot more than that.

Calling out a teammate over Twitter for cheating on his wife is the epitome of deplorable, pitiful behavior. Don’t tell me you think this is her independent opinion. Surely

quote:if checo came to my house and told me he did it on purpose I wouldn't believe it. It takes the slightest bump to the rear of these cars and you're fitting a new transmission and headed to the back of the grid. Schumacher parking at rascasse is how you screw everyone at monaco. Slight damage to the front wing
Max is blaming Checo for purposely crashing

quote:I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion but his mom dragging that shite up on social media is much worse than the two RB toddlers flinging shite at each other in the media. IMO that kinda stuff should be off limits especially within the team but again that's just me

His mom doing that is stupid, but it isn't some pattern of Max and family berating Checo in public. Which was the claim.
The whole family come off as pretty shitty. I don't think they have berated Checo at any time.

I'm starting to lean the same. Perez wasn't on pole and had no guarantee of not damaging his car.
The fight of Max v RBR may make a little more sense, but doesn't add up completely either. The "was this because of Monaco" answer would make sense in either case.
If the slight (in Brazi) was at RBR and not Checo then Checo might be more apt to respond the next week the way he did.
Time will tell.

If Checo did crash on purpose in Monaco qualifying then there must have been some serious mega beef between him Max before then because all his crash did was keep Max from qualifying P1 and guarantee Ferraris on the front row. So sometime before Monaco Checo must have acquired a major hard on for fricking over Max.
I watched Abu Dhabi 2021 again a couple of days ago the one quote that stands out from that day is Max saying that Checo is a legend on the radio after Checo gave Lewis hell when Hamilton was trying to pass him and let Max close 8 seconds to Lewis in a couple of laps.
