There some talk around Acadiana that Marlin may be gone at the end of the season. I sure hope it’s true.

Last night was pretty rough as teams in action went a combined 1-4.

The lone winner last night was Northwestern State as they defeated Abilene Christian 73-69. Chudier Bile's 15 points & 10 rebounds led the way for the Demons who also got 10 points from Nikos Chougkaz in the win. Northwestern State is now 9-12 overall and back at .500 in the Southland at 6-6.

Nicholls made a run in the second half at Stephen F Austin but came up short losing 64-70. The Colonels got 13 points from both Kevin Johnson and Andre Jones while Elvis Harvey scored 11 points and Warith Alatishe had 11 & 10 rebounds in the loss. Nicholls drops to 14-9 this season and 8-4 in SLC play.

McNeese fell behind in the first half and couldn't catch up losing 62-69 at Texas A&M-CC. The Cowboys got another double double from Shamarkus Kennedy who had 16 points & 10 rebounds. Roydell Brown scored 12 and Sam Baker added 10 points in the loss. McNeese falls to 12-11 on the year and 7-5 in conference play.

Southeastern lost a close one at Houston Baptist 76-79. The Lions got double digit scoring efforts from Brandon Gonzalez (19), Ty Brewer (15), Von Julien (13) and Pape Diop (12) but it wasn't enough. Southeastern is now 6-17 overall and 3-9 in the SLC.

LSU had their winning streaks snapped as they suffered an upset at Vanderbilt 90-99. The Tigers got big offensive efforts from Emmitt Williams who had 24 points & 11 rebounds and Trendon Watford who scored 26 points. Skylar Mays and Javonte Smart each scored 15 points in the loss. LSU drops to 17-5 on the year and 8-1 in SEC play.




We got a lot of action again tonight as four state schools take the court. See schedule below.

Teams in action last night were 1-3.

The only win last night was ULL defeating Georgia State 80-78 on a Mylik Wilson shot in the final seconds. The Cajuns got double digit scoring efforts from Jalen Johnson (17 & 10 rebounds), Cedric Russell (17), Mylik Wilson (16) and PJ Hardy (13). The Cajuns are now 10-14 overall and 5-8 in the Sun Belt.

Louisiana Tech had a rough first half and were unable to catch back up losing at Western Kentucky 54-65. The Bulldogs did not have a player reach double figures in the game as Daquan Bracey with 9 points was the leading scorer in the loss. Louisiana Tech drops to 17-6 on the season and 8-3 in CUSA.

Tulane also fell behind in the first half as they ended up losing 62-75 at Houston. The Wave had a trio of double figure scorers in Teshaun Hightower, KJ Lawson and Nobal Days who scored 17, 13 & 10 points respectively in the loss. Tulane is on a six game skid right now as they sit at 10-12 this year and 2-8 in AAC play.

ULM was lost a close one at home falling 65-67 to Georgia Southern. The Warhawks got a big offense output from Michael Ertel who scored 30 points while Erie Olonade scored 11 and Tyree White added 10 points in the loss. ULM has lost nine straight and falls to 6-16 overall and 2-11 in the SBC.




We have no games tonight but a full slate tomorrow as every state school is in action. We also have another in state match up taking place at Hobdy Assembly Center. See schedule for the weekend below.

By far our two worst performances of the season have come on ESPN and CBS Sports

Pretty rough weekend overall as state schools went a combined 3-9.


The day started off with LSU falling at Auburn 90-91 in OT. All five starters were in double figures for the Tigers led by Skylar Mays 30 point effort. Darius Days scored 19, Trendon Watford and Javonte Smart each scored 12 and Emmitt Williams had 11 points in the loss. LSU drops to 17-6 overall and 8-2 in SEC play.

Tulane couldn't get back in the win column as they lost at home 67-81 to ECU. The Wave got 23 points from Christion Thompson and 20 points from KJ Lawson as they were the only double figure scorers in the loss. Tulane falls to 10-13 this season and 2-9 in the AAC.

Louisiana Tech went to OT at Marshall but came up short losing 79-83. Louisiana Tech had six players in double figures including Kalob Ledoux (16), Mo Muhammed (12 & 12 rebounds), JaColby Pemberton (12), Andrew Gordon (12), Amorie Archibald (11) and Daquan Bracey (10). Louisiana Tech drops to 17-7 on the year and 8-4 in CUSA.

ULL lost at home to Georgia Southern 79-86. Cedric Russell was the high scorer for the Cajuns with 23 points. PJ Hardy, Jalen Johnson and Tirus Smith were also in double figures scoring 16, 14 & 10 points respectively in the loss. The Cajuns drop to 10-15 overall and 5-9 in SBC play.

ULM also lost at home 69-77 to Georgia State. The Warhawks had four players in double figures including Tyree White (19), Michael Ertel (17), Erie Olonade (11) and Youry White (11). ULM falls to 6-17 this season and 2-12 in the Sun Belt.

One of the three wins this weekend was Nicholls who got a 88-82 win over Sam Houston State. The Colonels got a big scoring effort from Kevin Johnson who scored 33 points. Good efforts were also turned in by Warith Alatishe who had a double double with 15 points & 14 rebounds, Andre Jones who scored 18 points and Jeremiah Buford who added 11 points in the win. Nicholls improves to 15-9 and 9-4 in SLC play.

Second win of the weekend went to Northwestern State who got a road win at Houston Baptist 93-79. The Demons were led by Brian White's 23 points and Nikos Chougkaz's 16 points & 12 rebounds. Chudier Bile and Trenton Massner each scored 12 points in the win. Northwestern State now sits at 10-12 overall and 7-6 in the Southland.

McNeese made a comeback in the second half but ultimately lost at home to Central Arkansas 76-82 in OT. The Cowboys got another huge effort from Shamarkus Kennedy who had 22 points & 21 rebounds. Myles Hutchinson, AJ Lawson and Dru Kruxhausen were also in double digits scoring 19, 14 & 12 points respectively in the loss. McNeese drops to 12-12 this season and 7-6 in conference.

UNO fell behind in the first half at Stephen F Austin and ended up losing 74-81. Bryson Robinson scored 26 points and Troy Green scored 13 points as they were the only double figure scorers for the Privateers in the loss. UNO falls to 7-16 on the year and 3-10 in the SLC.

Southeastern became the next team of the day to come up short in OT as they fell 75-82 at Incarnate Word. The Lions got double figure efforts from Pape Diop (19), Nick Caldwell (15), Laquan Butler (12) and Ty Brewer (10 & 10 rebounds) but came up short. Southeastern drops to 6-18 overall and 3-10 in Southland play.

And finally we had an in state match up where Grambling defended home court against Southern winning 66-62. The Tigers were led by Devante Jackson's 23 points and Ivy Smith, Jr.'s 18 points in the win. The Jags got 16 points from Ahsante Shivers and 14 points from Damiree Burns in the loss. Grambling is now 12-11 this year and 6-4 in SWAC play while Southern is 9-14 and 6-4.

It was a SWAC Monday and teams in action went 1-1.

Grambling picked up a win at home over Alcorn State 80-71. Four starters were in double figures for the Tigers including Cam Christon (20), Devante Jackson (15 & 11 rebounds), Prince Moss (12) and Ivy Smith, Jr. (11). Grambling improves to 13-11 on the season and 7-4 in conference.

Southern struggled in the second half and ended up losing at Jackson State 51-67. Damiree Burns scored 13 points and was the only Jag player to reach double digits in the loss. Southern falls to 9-15 this year and 6-5 in SWAC play.

LSU was the only team in action last night and they were able to get back in the win column by beating Missouri 82-78. The Tigers were led by Skylar Mays' 23 points and Darius Days' 20 points & 10 rebounds. Javonte Smart, Trendon Watford and Emmitt Williams were also in double figures scoring 15, 11 & 11 points respectively in the win. LSU improves to 18-6 overall and 9-2 in SEC play.

Teams in action last night were 2-3.

Tulane let a halftime lead slip away as they ultimately lost to Temple 68-72. The Wave had a trio of double figure scorers in Teshaun Hightower, Christion Thompson and Nic Thomas who scored 23, 18 & 10 points respectively in the loss. Tulane has now dropped eight straight and sits at 10-14 overall and 2-10 in AAC play.

Nicholls was able to edge out Lamar in the second half to get a 69-65 win. Dexter McClanahan scored 19 points to lead the Colonels who also got 11 points from both Kevin Johnson and Andre Jones in the win. Nicholls improves to 16-9 this season and 10-4 in SLC.

Northwestern State got a 70-60 win at home over Incarnate Word. The Demons got 12 points from Trenton Massner and 10 points from Chudier Bile in the win. Northwestern State has now won three in a row to get to 11-12 on the year and 8-6 in Southland play.

UNO came up short on the road losing at Central Arkansas 68-73. Four of the five Privateer starters were in double figures including Troy Green (19), Bryson Robinson (16), Jahmel Myers (11) and Lamont Berzat (10). UNO drops to 7-17 overall and 3-11 in conference.

Southeastern lost to Sam Houston State 70-79. The Lions also had four of five starters reach double digits in the scoring column including Ty Brewer (14), Byron Smith (12), Von Julien (11) and Brandon Gonzalez (10) but it wasn't enough. Southeastern has now dropped five straight and is 6-19 this season and 3-11 in SLC play.

Louisiana Tech was able to edge out FIU to win 60-57. The Bulldogs got 17 points from Amorie Archibald and 10 points from Mo Muhammed in the win. Louisiana Tech improves to 18-7 overall and 9-4 in CUSA play.

The Cajuns drop to 10-16 on the year and 5-10 in SBC play.

I thought it would be a little better than it's been just because of how the season started, but it's definitely an improvement from where they've been the last few years.

True... they’ve won 10 games, and only won 4 last year. That by default is an improvement, but it’s looking like they won’t win another game this season. Tulane looks every bit as bad right now as they did under Dunleavy.

Teams in action went 5-7 over the weekend.


LSU made a big push at the end against Alabama but ended up losing 82-88. Four of the five Tiger starters were in double figures including Skylar Mays (24), Trendon Watford (18), Javonte Smart (16) and Emmitt Williams (13 & 10 rebounds). LSU drops to 18-7 this year and 9-3 in SEC play.

Tulane had a rough first half at Wichita State and never really got back in it falling 57-82. Christion Thompson, Jordan Walker and Teshaun Hightower were the double figure scorers for the Wave scoring 16, 14 & 10 points respectively in the loss. Tulane falls to 10-15 on the season and 2-11 in the AAC.

Louisiana Tech picked up a 81-68 win over FAU. The Bulldogs got good scoring efforts from Kalob Ledoux who scored 24, Derric Jean who scored 21 and Daquan Bracey added 13 points in the win. Louisiana Tech improves to 19-7 overall and 10-4 in CUSA.

ULL got a road win at Troy winning 81-77. The Cajuns had four players in double figures including Jalen Johnson (20), Tirus Smith (17), PJ Hardy (15) and Mylik Wilson (11). The Cajuns improve to 11-16 this season and 6-10 in the Sun Belt.

ULM lost on a layup in the final seconds as they went down at South Alabama 49-50. Michael Ertel scored 13 points and Langston Powell scored 10 points as they were the only double digit scorers for the Warhawks in the loss. ULM falls to 7-18 this year and 3-13 in SBC play.

In an in state match up, Northwestern State defended home court as they beat McNeese 84-79. The Demons had a trio of double digit scorers including Chudier Bile, Jairus Roberson and Larry Owens who scored 27, 15 & 11 points respectively in the win. The Cowboys had four players in double figures including Myles Hutchinson (23), Dru Kruxhausen (18), Shamarkus Kennedy (16) and Roydell Brown (15 & 14 rebounds) but came up short. Northwestern State improves to 12-12 overall and 9-6 in the Southland while McNeese drops to 12-13 and 7-7.

In the other in state match up, Nicholls also defended their home court 81-71 over Southeastern. UNO drop to 7-18 overall and 3-12 in conference.

Grambling lost at Prairie View A&M 69-75. The Tigers got good efforts from Ivy Smith, Jr. (17 points & 11 assists), Devante Jackson (15 points), Cam Christon (15 points) and Prince Moss (14 points) in the loss. Grambling is now 13-12 this season and 7-5 in SWAC play.

Southern rolled against Arkansas-Pine Bluff winning 73-49. Skyler Baggs, Amel Kuljuhovic and Lamarcus Lee were the double figure scorers for the Jags scoring 19, 10 & 10 points respectively in the win. Southern improves to 10-15 overall and 7-5 in conference.
