Since Thanksgiving state schools have gone 5-3.

Quick recap of scores since Thanksgiving below.

Friday Nov 29th

LSU beat Missouri State 73-58. Darius Days led the Tigers with 20 points & 10 rebounds in the win. LSU is now 5-2.

UNO destroyed Eureka College 125-60. The Privateers were led by Charles Bohannon's 18 points and got 15 points & 10 rebounds from Jaylen Key. UNO got to 2-4 after this win.

Grambling lost at UC-Santa Barbara 58-67. Ivy Smith, Jr. was the leading scorer for the Tigers with 20 points in the loss. Grambling drops to 3-4 this season.

Saturday Nov 30th

Louisiana Tech took care of Sanford winning 78-57. The Bulldogs were led by Kalob Ledoux's 23 points and a 10 point, 15 rebound effort from Mubarak Muhammed in the win. Louisiana Tech now sits at 5-2 overall.

UNO won their second game in two days beating Xavier (NO) 79-62. Jaylen Key was the high scorer for the Privateers with 17 points in the victory. UNO improved to 3-4 this year.

McNeese was so close to pulling off the upset at Texas but lost by a final score of 71-73. ShaMarkus Kennedy was the leading scorer for the Cowboys with 22 points in the game. McNeese falls to 2-6 on the season.

Sunday Dec 1st

To wrap up the weekend Tulane beat Southern in an in state match up 82-65. KJ Lawson was the high scorer for the Wave with 30 points in the win. The Jags were led by Amel Kuljuhovic's 15 point effort in the loss. Tulane improves to 6-1 this year while Southern drops to 3-5.

Nicholls was the only team in action last night and they got an easy win over Campbellsville-Harrodsburg 120-69. The Colonels got big scoring nights from Lorenzo McGhee who scored 34 and Dexter McClanahan who scored 21 and also got a triple double from Andre Jones who scored 13 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and had 11 assists. Other double figure scorers included D'Angelo Hunter who scored 12 and Elvis Harvey who scored 10 in the win. Nicholls improves to 5-4 on the season.



There is a lot of action tonight as six state teams take the court including in state match ups at the PMAC & Cajundome. See schedule below.

Teams in action went 3-3 last night.

In the first in state match up LSU ran away from UNO in the second half for a 90-54 win. The Tigers got double doubles from Emmitt Williams (18 points & 10 rebounds) and Darius Days (12 points & 10 rebounds) and also got double figure scoring efforts from Trendon Watford (18), Charles Manning, Jr. (13) and Javonte Smart (12) in the win. The Privateers had a trio of players in the double figures led by Bryson Robinson who scored 18, Jaylen Key who scored 13 and Troy Green who scored 10 in the loss. LSU improves to 6-2 this season while UNO drops to 3-5.

In the second in state match up of the night ULL was also able to get some distance in the second half as they defeated Southeastern 98-81. Jalen Johnson led the Cajuns with 26 points & 10 rebounds and double digit scoring efforts were turned in by Cedric Russell (16), Kobe Julien (12), Tirus Smith (11) and PJ Hardy (10) in the win. The Lions got 23 points from Ty Brewer, 16 from Nick Caldwell and 12 points from Jeremiah Saunders in the loss. The Cajuns now sit at 5-3 on the year and the Lions fall to 2-6.

McNeese routed Campbellsville-Harrodsburg 107-61. The Cowboys got 20+ point efforts from AJ Lawson (22) and Dru Kruxhausen (21) and a double double from Roydell Brown who scored 11 and had 12 boards. Shamarkus Kennedy and Chris Orlina also reached double figures with 17 & 14 points respectively in the win. McNeese gets to 3-6 overall.

Northwestern State was on the road at SMU and lost 51-77. The Demons did not have a player reach double figures in the scoring column and the high scorer on the night was Chudier Bile with 9 points. Northwestern State drops to 2-5 on the year.

Last night was a good one as teams in action went 3-0.

Tulane got a 61-56 road win at Southern Miss. The Wave were led by Christion Thompson who scored 15 points, Teshaun Hightower who scored 13 & grabbed 10 boards and KJ Lawson who scored 11 points in the win. Tulane improves to 7-1 to start the season.

ULM had a big second half to defeat Millsaps 86-63. The Warhawks got double digit scoring efforts from Michael Ertel, JD Williams and Tyree White who scored 21, 17 & 10 points respectively in the victory. ULM now sits at 4-2 on the year.

Grambling was able to get past Paul Quinn College 79-69. The Tigers had three players in double figure scoring including Anthony Gaston (15), Travon Bunch (14) and Ivy Smith, Jr. (10). Grambling gets back to .500 on the season at 4-4.



There's only one game tonight as Louisiana Tech travels to face Mississippi State. Game details below.

As noted above, Louisiana Tech got a big road win last night over Mississippi State winning 74-67. The Bulldogs had five players in double figures led by Daquan Bracey's 16 points and Amorie Archibald's 15 points. Derric Jean, Isaiah Crawford and Kalob Ledoux also reached double digits each scoring 10 points in the win. Louisiana Tech improves to 6-2 this season.

Not a great weekend overall as teams in action combined to go 2-6.

*Friday Dec 6 Results*

Southeastern was able to get by SUNO 79-74. The Lions got big efforts from Ty Brewer who scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Pape Diop who scored 25 points. Nick Caldwell added 10 points in the win. Southeastern improves to 3-6 on the season.

*Saturday Dec 7 Results*

ULL lost at Arizona State 65-77. Mylik Wilson and Cedric Russell were the high scorers for the Cajuns with 16 points each and Dou Gueye had 11 points in the loss. The Cajuns drop to 5-4 this year.

Grambling was also on the road and lost 67-83 to Loyola Marymount. Devante Jackson, Travon Bunch and Trevell Cunningham were all in double figures for the Tigers with 16, 14 & 10 points respectively in the loss. Grambling falls to 4-5 overall.

Tulane took on St. Louis University at the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Phoenix and lost 62-86. The Wave had three players in double figures led by KJ Lawson's 18 points. Nic Thomas with 16 points and Teshaun Hightower with 12 points were the other double figure scorers. Tulane drops to 7-2 on the year.

Southern was at Akron and lost 57-72. Amel Kuljuhovic scored 18 points and Montese Blake scored 13 points as they were the only players in double digits for the Jags in the loss. Southern falls to 3-6 overall.

Louisiana Tech was on the road at Sam Houston State and lost a close one 68-71. Three players were in double figures for the Bulldogs including Amorie Archibald (20), Kalob Ledoux (15) and Daquan Bracey (12). Louisiana Tech falls to 6-3 this season.

In an in state match up, LSU handled Northwestern State winning 109-59. All five starters and seven players overall were in double figures for the Tigers including Javonte Smart (17), Emmitt Williams (16 & 10 rebounds), Drius Days (16), Trendon Watford (14), Skylar Mays (14), James Bishop (11) and Aundre Hyatt (10). Chudier Bile was the only player in double figures for the Demons with a good 20 point effort in the loss. LSU now sits at 7-2 this season while Northwestern State is now 2-6.




Not quite as busy this week as we were the last couple of weeks. I assume we're reaching the time of finals at a lot of schools. See below for this week's schedule.

Teams in action last night were 2-1.

In an in state match up Grambling traveled to Monroe and beat ULM 66-61. Ivy Smith, Jr. scored 15 points to lead the Tigers who also got 12 points from Devante Jackson and 11 points from Kelton Edwards in the win. The Warhawks got 22 points from Jalen Hodge, 13 points from JD Williams and 10 points from Michael Ertel in the loss. Grambling gets back to .500 on the year at 5-5 while ULM drops to 4-3.

McNeese was at home and got a 82-73 win over UMKC. The Cowboys got really good performances from AJ Lawson who scored 30 points and Shamarkus Kennedy who had a triple double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks. McNeese improves to 4-6 this season.



There is only one game with a state school tonight and that is taking place in Thibodaux. See below for game information.

Nicholls was the only school in action last night and they rolled to an easy win over Carver College 118-44. As you would imagine there were many double figure scorers for the Colonels including Andre Jones (21), Warith Alatishe (14 & 12 rebounds), Brandon Moore (14), Tyrease Terrell (13), Dexter McClanahan (11) and Jeremiah Buford (10). Nicholls improves to 6-4 this season.




There's only one school in action tonight and it's Southern on the road at Wright State. See game details below.

Southern was the only team in action last night and they lost 62-85 on the road at Wright State. Damiree Burns and Brendon Brooks each scored 16 as they were the only players in double figures for the Jags in the loss. Southern falls to 3-7 on the year.

This Louisiana Tech team is strong. That was a beat down they put on the Cajuns

Sam Houston State will be a head scratcher and we’ll probably have one or more of those again this season but I think Tech finally has a ball club that can win three games in three days in Frisco

Southern suffered a road loss at Butler 41-66. Isaiah Rollins was the only Jag to reach double digits in the scoring column as he had 13 points in the loss. Southern falls to 3-8 overall.

Grambling rolled past Rust College winning 82-54. Devante Jackson scored 17 points to lead the Tigers who also got double digit scoring efforts from Kelton Edwards (14), Travon Bunch (11) and Trevell Cunningham (10) in the win. Grambling is now 6-5 this year.

Teams in action were 1-1 last night.

Grambling was on the road at Marquette and lost 72-93. Kelton Edwards and Ivy Smith, Jr. were the leading scorers for the Tigers with 22 & 14 points respectively in the loss. Grambling drops to 6-6 on the year.

Last night was kind of rough as teams in action were a combined 2-6.

LSU fell behind East Tennessee State early and couldn't catch back up losing 63-74. The Tigers got 16 points & 11 rebounds from Emmitt Williams and 13 points from Skylar Mays in the loss. LSU drops to 7-3 on the season.

ULL opened up conference play on the road and lost 67-79 at Arkansas State. The Cajuns had four players in double figures including Cedric Russell (16), Tirus Smith (15), Mylik Wilson (12) and Jalen Johnson (10) but it wasn't enough. Of note, there were 10 technical fouls between the two teams which is impressive because there was not a single physical altercation. The Cajuns fall to 5-6 on the year and 0-1 in Sun Belt play.

Nicholls opened up their conference slate with a 64-58 win over Texas A&M-CC. Dexter McClanahan was the high scorer for the Colonels with 17 points and Warith Alatishe had 14 points & 10 rebounds in the win. Nicholls improves to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in Southland play.

UNO began SLC action last night with a 71-77 loss to Abilene Christian. The Privateers were led in scoring by Troy Green's 19 points and Jaylen Key's 16 points. Bryson Robinson and Ahren Freeman were also in double figures with 14 points each in the loss. UNO falls to 4-6 on the year and 0-1 in conference.

Southeastern was on the road at Lamar in their conference opener and lost a close one 73-79 in OT. The Lions got good efforts from Byron Smith (18 points), Laquan Butler (17 points) and Pape Diop (14 points & 11 rebounds) but it wasn't enough to get the win. Southeastern now sits at 3-7 and 0-1 in the SLC.

In the final conference match up for a state team last night, Northwestern State lost at Sam Houston State 79-92. The Demons had three double figure scorers in the loss including Brian White with 18, Chudier Bile with 17 and Gatdoar Kueth with 11. Northwestern State falls to 2-7 overall and 0-1 in Southland play.

ULM opened up their Sun Belt slate at home last night against Little Rock and lost in the final seconds 72-73. The Warhawks got 24 points from JD Williams, 23 points from Michael Ertel and 10 points from Jalen Hodge but came up just short. ULM drops to 4-5 on the season and 0-1 in conference.

This was a pretty brutal basketball weekend as teams in action went 1-10 this weekend.

Tulane came up just short in their opening game at the DC Holiday Hoops Fest losing 61-62 to Akron. Teshaun Hightower (18), KJ Lawson (14), Kevin Zhang (11) and Christion Thompson (10) were all in double figures for the Wave but it wasn't quite enough. Tulane dropped to 8-3 on the year.

Southern was on the road at UC Santa Barbara and lost 68-77. Ahsante Shivers scored 22 for the Jags who also got 10 points from Damiree Burns in the loss. Southern falls to 3-10 this season.

Tulane's second game in the DC Holiday Hoops Fest was also a close loss as they fell 82-86 in OT to Towson. The Wave got a big game from Teshaun Hightower who scored 33 and Nic Thomas and Christion Thompson each scored 19 in the loss. Tulane sits at 8-4 overall.

Southeastern was in Jackson to take on Ole Miss and put up a good fight before ultimately losing 76-83. Ty Brewer scored a game high 30 points and Laquan Butler added 12 points for the Lions in the loss. Southeastern falls to 3-8 this season.

ULM was at home against Arkansas State and lost a close one 59-62. Tyree White (14), Michael Ertel (13) and Jalen Hodge (10) were the double figure scorers for the Warhawks in the loss. ULM drops to 4-6 overall this season and 0-2 in Sun Belt play.

UNO was on the road to take on Sam Houston State and lost 79-87. The Privateers got good scoring efforts from Bryson Robinson and Troy Green who scored 24 & 20 points respectively. Lamont Berzat also reached double figures scoring 11 points in the loss. UNO falls to 4-7 this season and 0-2 in Southland play.

McNeese was at home for their SLC opener against Stephen F Austin and lost 73-81. Roydell Brown led the Cowboys with 25 points & 11 rebounds. Other double figure scorers for the Cowboys included AJ Lawson, Dru Kruxhausen and Leondre Washington who scored 12, 11 & 11 points respectively in the loss. McNeese drops to 5-7 this year and 0-1 in conference.

Northwestern State was the only state school to pick up a win over the weekend as they got a 67-61 victory over Lamar. It was pretty much a three man show for the Demons as they were led by Jairus Roberson (18 points), Nikos Chougkaz (17 points) and Chudier Bile (14 points) in the win. Northwestern State improves to 3-7 overall and 1-1 in SLC play.

ULL took on Little Rock in their home conference opener and came up short losing 66-69. The Cajuns got a big game from Jalen Johnson who scored 26 points and Cedric Russell added 11 points in the loss. The Cajuns fall to 5-7 this season and 0-2 in the SBC.

Nicholls traveled to Abilene Christian and lost 61-79. Elvis Harvey scored 15 and Lorenzo McGhee scored 11 as they were the only Colonel players in double digits. Nicholls drops to 7-6 on the year and 1-1 in conference.

In the last game of the weekend LSU came up short in Los Angeles losing 68-70 to USC. Skylar Mays scored 21 to lead the Tigers who also got double doubles from Trendon Watford (17 points & 10 rebounds) and Darius Days (12 points & 11 rebounds) in the loss. LSU now sits at 7-4 overall.

Tulane looks a lot better under Ron Hunter but I think they are going to struggle in the AAC. If they win one conference game that’s an improvement over least year though.
