Teams in action last night went 4-3.

LSU edged out Mississippi State 92-88 in OT. The Tigers got big performances from Naz Reid who scored 29 and Tremont Waters who scored 26. Kavell Bigby-Williams also turned in a 14 point, 13 rebound effort in the win. LSU improves to 18-4 this season and 8-1 in SEC play.

ULM got a nice win over Georgia State 82-76. Daishon Smith had a huge night pouring in 36 points for the Warhawks who also got 12 points each from Travis Munnings, Michael Ertel and JD Williams. ULM is now 12-10 on the year and back to .500 at 5-5 in Sun Belt play.

ULL lost to Georgia Southern 86-103. JaKeenan Gant (23), Marcus Stroman (16), Cedric Russell (13), Jerekius Davis (10) and Trajan Wesley (10) were all in double figures for the Cajuns but it wasn't enough. ULL drops to 13-10 overall and 4-6 in the SBC.

UNO got past Northwestern State 81-73 in OT. Ezekiel Charles was the high scorer for the Privateers with 31 points. Damion Rosser and Scott Plaisance each scored 14 in the win. The Demons got another double double from Ishmael Lane who finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds. CJ Jones scored 14 and Larry Owens had 11 points in the loss. UNO goes to 13-9 this year and 8-3 in Southland play while Northwestern State falls to 8-15 and 3-7.

Southeastern got a win at Texas A&M-CC 64-58. Marlain Veal, Moses Greenwood and Keith Charleston were the double figure scorers for the Lions with 27, 17 & 11 points respectively. Southeastern is now 10-13 overall and 6-4 in the SLC.

McNeese lost at Sam Houston State 62-77. Roydell Brown turned in 15 points & 10 rebounds for the Cowboys who also got 12 points from Trey Touchet and 11 points from both Shamarkus Kennedy and James Harvey in the loss. McNeese falls to 7-15 this season and 3-6 in conference.

Only reason we beat GA State last night is because our players refused to quit. Extending Marlin’s contract and upping him to $500k a year was stupid.

The dude ain’t going anywhere, and we’re suckers for paying him that much money based on his past 9 seasons.

Teams in action went 7-5 this weekend.

*Friday, February 8th Results

ULM beat 88-79. The Warhawks got a 38 point effort from Daishon Smith and 17 points & 11 rebounds from Travis Munnings. Michael Ertel with 15 and JD Williams with 10 also reached double figure scoring in the win. ULM is now 13-10 overall and 6-5 in Sun Belt play.

ULL got back in the win column holding off Georgia State 76-72. JaKeenan Gant, Cedric Russell and Trajan Wesley were the double digit scorers for the Cajuns with 23, 14 & 10 respectively. ULL goes to 14-10 this season and 5-6 in the SBC.

Tulane lost at Wichita State 62-77. Caleb Daniels and Connor Crabtree each with 17 points were the high scorers for the Wave who also got 11 points from Samir Sehic and 10 points from Jordan Cornish in the loss. Tulane falls to 4-18 overall and 0-10 in the AAC.

Louisiana Tech lost in OT at Southern Miss 71-73. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by JaColby Pemberton (17), Amorie Archibald (13), Dequan Bracey (13) and Anthony Duruji (12) but it wasn't enough. Louisiana Tech drops to 15-10 this season and 5-7 in CUSA play.

Nicholls hit a shot in the final seconds to win at UNO 64-63. Jeremiah Jefferson scored 19 and Danny Garrick scored 12, including the eventual game winner, to lead the Colonels to the win. The Privateers were led by Scott Plaisance who scored 15 & grabbed 11 rebounds, Gerrale Gates who scored 15 and Ezekiel Charles who scored 14 but they came up just short. Nicholls goes to 11-12 on the year and 4-6 in Southland play while UNO drops to 13-10 and 8-4.

Southeastern got a win at Central Arkansas winning 75-67. The Lions were led by Marlain Veal's 21 points, Moses Greenwood's 20 points & 11 rebounds and Parker Edwards 16 point effort in the win. Southeastern improves to 11-13 and 7-4 in the SLC.

Northwestern State held off McNeese down the stretch to win 74-72. The Demons were led by DeAndre Love who scored 24 points, Ishmael Lane who had 17 points & 12 rebounds and Malik Metoyer who had 10 points in the win. The Cowboys were led by Roydell Brown (21), Kevin Hunt (16), James Harvey (14) and Shamarkus Kennedy (11) in the loss. Northwestern State gets to 9-15 this year and 4-7 in conference while McNeese falls to 7-16 and 3-7.

Grambling had a big second half to get a win over Southern 59-40. Ivy Smith scored 21 and Devante Jackson scored 12 to lead the Tigers to the win. Sidney Umude scored 17 points for the Jags as he was their only double figure scorer in the loss. Grambling improves to 12-11 and 6-4 in the SWAC while Southern drops to 3-20 and 2-8 in conference.

Teams in action were 2-0 last night.

Grambling won at Alcorn State 65-53. Double figure scorers for the Tigers were Ivy Smith, Jr. with 16, Devante Jackson with 12 and Dallas Polk-Hilliard with 10. Grambling improves to 13-11 overall and 7-4 in the SWAC.

Southern picked up a win over Jackson State 76-67. Jayden Saddler with 20 points was the high scorer for the Jags who also got 15 points from both Richard Lee and Aaron Ray. Southern is now 4-20 this season and 3-8 in conference.



There's only one game tonight but it's a good one. LSU travels to take on #5 Kentucky on ESPN at 6pm.

The Tigers were led by Tremont Waters who scored 15 points, Naz Reid & Emmitt Williams who both scored 12 and and Skylar Mays who had 11 in the win. LSU improves to 20-4 this season and 10-1 in the SEC.

Last night wasn't a great one as teams in action were 1-3.

Southeastern got the lone win as they beat Incarnate Word 70-64. Moses Greenwood scored 25 points and grabbed 10 rebounds while Marlain Veal and Brandon Gonzalez eached scored 11 in the Lions win. Southeastern gets to 12-13 this season and 8-4 in Southland play.

Nicholls had a rough offensive outing as they lost 48-64 to Abilene Christian. Kevin Johnson scored 15 points and was the only Colonel player to reach double figure scoring. Nicholls drops to 11-13 overall and 4-7 in the SLC.

Northwestern State made a big push in the second half but came up short at Lamar 70-75. Alex Comanita, Ishmael Lane and LaTerrance Reed were the double figure scorers for the Demons with 12, 11 & 10 points respectively in the loss. Northwestern State is now 9-16 on the year and 4-8 in conference.

McNeese lost at Stephen F. Austin 57-67. McNeese got good efforts from Trey Touchet who scored 12, Shamarkus Kennedy who scored 11 and pulled down 16 rebounds and Will Robinson who had 11 but it wasn't enough. McNeese falls to 7-17 and 3-8 in the Southland.

Tulane in real danger of finishing 0-18 in AAC play as well as 4-26 overall.
Haven’t won a game since December 17th. Currently a 13 game L streak

LSU was able to get past Georgia 83-79. Double figure scorers for the Tigers included Tremont Waters who scored 20, Ja'vonte Smart who scored 19 and Naz Reid who had 13 in the win. LSU improves to 21-4 this season and 11-1 in SEC play.

Louisiana Tech topped UTSA 72-67. The Bulldogs got good efforts from Dequan Bracey who scored 23 points, Anthony Duruji who scored 11 and grabbed 13 rebounds and Ra'Shawn Langston who chipped in with 13 points. Louisiana Tech is now 17-10 overall and 7-7 in CUSA.

Thanks for all the hard work you put into these threads even though interest is kind of down. Besides LSU, college basketball around the state is weak sauce. I still appreciate you keeping me up to date on Tulane’s losses

Yeah, this isn't a great year outside of LSU.

There was a lot more action last year whenever the Cajuns, Nicholls & Southeastern were all having good seasons.

Hopefully there's a team out there that ends up catching fire in their conference tournament and gets a second school in the state dancing this year.

In a battle for sole possession of 3rd place in the Southland, UNO beat Southeastern 89-68. The Privateers were led by Bryson Robinson who scored 23 points. Jorge Rosa with 18, Scott Plaisance with 15 and Jahmel Myers with 11 also reached double digit scoring in the win. The Lions got 26 points from Moses Greenwood and 11 from Marlain Veal in the loss.
