re: 2018-19 Season Long State of LA College Basketball Thread
Tulane lost on a falling away 3 off an inbounds pass with 0.5 seconds left. The dude for Wichita made an incredible shot...

Unfortunately every team in the AAC gets invited to the tournament, so Tulane is not out of its misery yet.

You've made me aware Tech's road struggles but hopefully that doesn't apply to neutral courts

Eh we won’t have the guard depth to win four games in four days. I do think if we sneak by FAU we can potentially ruin ODU’s day.

Dogs matchup really well with them and should have beat them in Norfolk earlier this year.

ETA: next year should be fun returning every single player from this years squad (obviously barring transfers)

Louisiana Tech overcame a 14 point half time deficit and edged past FAU winning 57-56. The Bulldogs got 17 points from Dequan Bracey, 14 points from Anthony Duruji and 11 from Amorie Archibald in the win. Louisiana Tech advances to the quarterfinals today where they will face the #1 seed Old Dominion.

Today/tonight is huge for state schools as we have 6 teams in action. The AAC tournament starts today and we'll see if Tulane can pull an upset. Louisiana Tech tries to carry over the momentum from the win last night as they try to take down the top seed. The New Orleans portion of the Sun Belt Tournament starts tonight and both SBC schools in the state are in action. And the two surviving state schools in the Southland take the court tonight as we now know who they will be facing after both receiving byes. Let's get some wins today.

See schedule below.

Thursday, March 14th
(12) Tulane vs (5) Memphis - 2pm (ESPNU)
(8) Louisiana Tech vs (1) Old Dominion - 6pm (Stadium)
(5) ULL vs (8) South Alabama - 5pm (ESPN+)
(7) ULM vs (6) Coastal Carolina - 7:30pm (ESPN+)
(4) UNO vs (5) Lamar - 5pm (ESPN+)
(3) Southeastern vs (7) Central Arkansas - 7:30pm (ESPN+)

Friday, March 15th

(4) Grambling vs (1) Prairie View A&M - 2:30pm (WatchESPN)

Saturday, March 16th

Russell missed a wide open 3 at the buzzer. Cajuns lose 70-69. Russell and Hardy a combined 2-14 from 3. That'll do it

re: 2018-19 Season Long State of LA College Basketball Thread
Well, 3 teams went home last night but 3 teams advanced.

Let's get the bad out of the way first.

As mentioned above, Tulane's season finally came to an end with a 68-83 loss to Memphis. Caleb Daniels scored 19 and Blake Paul scored 12 for the Wave in the loss. Tulane finishes the season at 4-27 overall.

Louisiana Tech lost on a last second shot to top seeded Old Dominion 56-57. The Bulldogs got 12 points from Dequan Bracey and 10 points from Ra'Shawn Langston in the loss. Louisiana Tech finishes the season at 20-13 overall.

ULL also suffered a tough loss, falling 69-70 to South Alabama. JaKeenan Gant led the Cajuns with 26 points & 12 rebounds. Jerekius Davis scored 17 and Cedric Russell added 10 points but they came up just short. ULL finishes the season at 19-13 overall.

Now onto the good.

ULM crushed Coastal Carolina 80-50. The Warhawks got 20 points from Michael Ertel, 17 from Travis Munnings and 13 from Daishon Smith in the win. ULM advances to the quarterfinals today where they will face third seeded Georgia Southern.

Southeastern took care of Central Arkansas winning 79-65. Moses Greenwood scored 22 to lead the Lions who also got 15 points from Marlain Veal and 13 points from Von Julien. Southeastern advances to the semifinals where they will face second seeded Abilene Christian.

UNO got past Lamar 76-72. Bryson Robinson with 17, Scott Plaisance with 16 and Jorge Rosa with 13 were the double figure scorers for the Privateers in the win. UNO also advances to the SLC semifinals today where they will take on the #1 seed Sam Houston State.

Alright, we lost a few yesterday but we still have five state schools alive in their tournaments. LSU finally takes the court in Nashville after getting a bye to the quarterfinals. The Birmingham portion of the SWAC Tournament starts today and Grambling tries to take down the top seed. The semis of the Southland are today and we could potentially get an all Louisiana championship game in the SLC. And ULM tries to build off their big win last night in the Sun Belt quartfinals today.

Good luck to everyone today. Let's get some wins.

See schedule below.

Friday, March 15th
(1) LSU vs (8) Florida - 12pm (ESPN)
(4) Grambling vs (1) Prairie View A&M - 2:30pm (WatchESPN)
(4) UNO vs (1) Sam Houston State - 5pm (ESPN+)
(7) ULM vs (3) Georgia Southern - 7:30pm (ESPN+)
(3) Southeastern vs (2) Abilene Christian - 7:30pm (ESPN+)

Saturday, March 16th
TBD

Sunday, March 17th
TBD

re: 2018-19 Season Long State of LA College Basketball Thread
Alright, I've been out of town so didn't do a wrap up. I'll skip over that as I assume everyone knows how the games this past weekend played out.

The state got one school into The Dance and that was LSU. However, we have other schools who have elected to keep their season going. See below for the weekly schedule.

Wednesday, March 20th
UNO vs Texas Southern - 7pm - CIT 1st Round
Grambling @ UT-Rio Grande Valley - 7pm - CIT 1st Round

Thursday, March 21st
LSU vs Yale - 11:30am (truTV) - NCAA 1st Round
ULM vs Kent State - 7pm - CIT 1st Round

I think that covers all the teams playing in the postseason. If I missed someone, let me know.

Good luck to everyone still playing.

Anthony Duruji is transferring, as well as Langston. At least we'll add a great scorer in Kalob Ledoux from McNeese next season.

Our stacked team next year is now less stacked. If we lose Bracey, that'll be two absolutely brutal losses.

Why are so many guys transferring?

Is Bracey considering transferring as well?

re: 2018-19 Season Long State of LA College Basketball Thread
Langston wasn't going to get a ton of PT with a bunch of guards entering the mix in 2019, but as far as Duruji

Hard to replace defense and athleticism like his. Dude was the most athletic player on the court regardless of the opponent.

Life of a mid major though. Rumor is he is following Tony Skinn to Seton Hall. No idea on Bracey, just a fear

No talk on here about LSUA? They are the #2 NAIA team in the country and a 1 seed for the national tournament which starts tomorrow. They are loaded with guys this year and could play in the title game for the second year in a row. Coach Larry Cordaro has built something truly special here in little ole Alexandria!

re: 2018-19 Season Long State of LA College Basketball Thread
Last night was a rough one in the CIT as two state schools were bounced.

UNO lost in OT to Texas Southern 89-95. The Privateers got 20 points from Bryson Robinson, 14 points & 11 rebounds from Jahmel Myers and 13 points from both Jorge Rosa & Troy Green in the loss. UNO finishes the season 19-14 overall.

Grambling lost a close one at UT-Rio Grande Valley 73-74. The Tigers got double digit scoring efforts from Dallas Polk-Hilliard (22), Prince Moss (16), Axel Mpoyo (12) and Ivy Smith, Jr. (11 & 13 assists) but came up just short. Grambling finishes the season at 17-17 overall.

So now we have two schools left playing postseason basketball. Both are in action today. See schedule below.

Thursday, March 21st
LSU vs Yale - 11:40am (truTV) - NCAA 1st Round
ULM vs Kent State - 7pm - CIT 1st Round
