It’s crazy to think a playoff game was played in these circumstances. You could hardly see the field from the broadcast booth, and even the sidelines according to coaches. Verne and Terry Bradshaw were lost on many plays. Add in the Ditka v Buddy rivalry, and you had a major event in NFL history.

Somehow Randall Cunningham threw for over 400 yards, but had 0 TDs and 3 picks. The Bears survive 20-12.

Would this game have been played today? Where does this rank on crazy playoff games?

Have any of the modern fog games been as bad as ‘88?

First one that came to mind. That was probably the closest we've seen to the actual Fog Bowl.

didn't the fog roll in at the end of a Patriots SNF game this season?

The '88 Fog Bowl was great to watch as a kid. It had snowed all across the South that week, so everything was still shut down-- and I remember going outside to have a snowball fight during the halftime of the Fog Bowl.

Wasn't that game moved to a Monday afternoon for some reason?
