16% Won’t Watch Super Bowl
CBS came out with a report about a recent poll saying 16% of NFL fans won’t watch this year’s Super Bowl, for a variety of reasons.
Heck! I haven’t watched it in years, since after the Saints won it.

I hardly ever watch the reg season games either, and have no fave team besides the Saints.

Love college ball, I just don’t much care for pro sports. Anymore - but that's been building up inside me for more than a few years.

Here's a belated link to the poll info.

The super hardcore fans are going to laugh and say you are being a fool but there are tons of people who are just tired of the antics.

They can’t see past their own fandom to realize for tons of people stepping away and turning off the tv really isn’t that difficult.

I know personally I love politics and debating, but sports was always an outlet away and the more it’s gotten intertwined the less I’ve enjoyed it.

I’m not saying I’m one of those people who will cut off the super bowl, because I won’t, but don’t discount that for a decent chunk of people it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Then you're in luck. Once they kick off, they aren't going to mention politics.

I will be watching. Its the superbowl and i am a football fan in general. There will be alot of people hop in here and talk about how it will still be the most watched show on tv, yada yada yada, and it will. But facts are the nfl ratings declined dramatically this year. Rather it be political reasons, people tired of the concussion bs, the refs, or just lack of really good teams this year. Personally this is the least amount of nfl I have watched in my entire life. I probably watched 3-5 games completely. And while the anthem stuff got under my skin, it really had more to do with personal reasons for me and making a better effort to not let my life revolve arond a tv.

I figured you'd have more to say after a few years of buildup.

I’ve been a big NFL fan for many years. Im gradually moving away from it, and I’m not interested in watching this Super Bowl.

It’s the antics, the refs, the politics, the players, the owners.

There’s an arrogance in every facet that drives me further away each year.

Man, with Houston and Alabama already winning, if the Pats and Warriors pull it off this will be a big year for you.

My own interest in the NFL and pro sports in general has really declined for numerous reasons over the last few years but good lord these self righteous posts about how you don't watch pro sports, and haven't for years, are getting so annoying.

I feel like the people who don’t watch “anymore but used to be big fans” y’all about it and ratings all the time.

Typically if I stop watching something I don’t let it consume my time anymore. Move on folks.

I think they included Jonesboro-Hodge.

Key word here. As said earlier about the politards, either they will watch it just to get themselves pissed off because apparently they enjoy this, or they're flat out lying because they want everybody to think they're making a political statement but they lack the balls to actually do it. Like men who say they don't listen to Taylor Swift but somehow they know all the lyrics.

re: 16% Won’t Watch Super Bowl
I just think most of the people "boycotting the NFL" weren't really watching all that much anyway. There are 0 hardcore fans (aka the people driving the ratings anyway) who stopped watching because of all the political BS.

People try to cite ratings drops, but it's not out of the ordinary - the numbers almost perfectly line up with the universal ratings drops that TV networks are seeing as a result of cable cutting. The NFL is fine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm with y'all - I hate the political shit, too. It has no place in sports at all.
