They released earnings that beat expectations and were much higher than the previous year. Also, the other majors were all up.

Nothing really. People probably just selling positions after the call since the overall industry outlook isn't expected to improve in the short term.

Actually missed earnings estimate if you take out assest sales.
The miss was due to lower US production.
